"Post your Art" Thread

Im not familiar with it, but I guess it good sign it leaning somewhere, although title kinda sounds like anime thing and im afraid to actually google it
It's a point and click game from the 90s, the kind of sequel of Maniac Mansion. The game has a very distinct and easily recognizable cartoony style with simple shapes and striking colors.

Most Lucasarts games from that period have a really eye catching style which makes me resent the appearance of 3D engines in graphic adventures. Specially when i look at old Broken Sword games

Maniac Mansion is one of my top five games of all time.
Day of the Tentacle is easily one of the most fun games ever.
The majority of those old LucasArts adventure games were bangers.

Lol I crapped this out for another thread where we're making a comic using quick MS Paint drawings. The thread is pretty funny with people playing off of each other's shitty drawings left and right to make jokes so go contribute.

Looking for critiques on this piece, im not satisfied with this, but can't figure out why, maybe someone can see what I can't

Besides just spending more time refining the shapes and lines, you could add a gaussian blur to the background to make it look bit more out-of-focus and give it more depth.

Other than that, maybe try changing your hues a bit when shading. Shadows usually tend to be cooler than their base colors while lighting tends to be warmer. For example, instead of shading green with a darker green, shade it with a darker greenish-turquoise.

This so much. A lot of newbie artists believe that shadows are just plain darker grey but you should try to use a cooler tone for them or a complementary cooler color in order to make them feel right. Meanwhile, highlights will be warmer than the neutral color.
