Was testing out some new pencil brushes and thought I'd doodle something up. I haven't done any realism-like stuff for a while, so I thought I'd do a basic profile. Looks pretty okay, I think.

Lately I've found myself doing a lot of digital stuff using a limited palette--often greyscale, but sometimes with specific shades of colors. It's a bit more challenging in some cases (especially when using actual colors), but it's a lot of fun.

Oh wow, I seriously envy your coloring skills! (And your skills in general.) That second pic is especially badass.

Out of curiosity, is that traditional art, or digital? It looks traditional to me but I've been wrong before...

Looks traditional to me, can't tell if it's colored with pencils or markets though, but good ink work. More than I can muster.

I use crayons for the colors; someone else inked it. How I do it is: I make a basic layer of colors, blend it with mineral spirits (aka paint thinner) and a q-tip, if I need a darker background, I will color over the blended layer while it's still wet and then apply a light amount of mineral spirits and blend that (the most I've done is a third layer); wait for it to dry, then I add the shading and details and it's done.

Oh my gosh your art is so cute! I especially dig the second one--cute guro (or semi-guro, I guess) is one of my favorite art things.

And on an unrelated note, I really need to get my scanner working so I can scan in some of my more recent traditional art. But since I don't have much of it on me, here's some more digital stuff.

Given some of the subject matter, now is as good a time as any to just come out and say that I am absolute Homestuck trash. But I'm pretty sure that was obvious.

I entered this one into an art contest at an animu convention. I did not win.

This was me trying to do transparency and kind of sucking at it.

This started as general anatomy practice but I took it in a ridiculous direction.

This one looked much better when I was actually drawing it--there's a ton of coloring errors that I didn't notice until after it was too late. It was still fun to draw though!

I also draw a lot of self-portraits. Here are some of those. (And as you can see, I'm super indecisive about my hair.)

An even shittier attempt at transparency. Note also the fact that I somehow managed to forget my glasses, despite me needing them for my daily life (and having worn glasses since I was ten).

This one is actually kinda decent, IMO.
