"Post your Art" Thread

Ok I have a question (since there isn't really a place to ask) involving gesture for a beginner: would it be a good idea to start making the poses as a stick figure but eventually start making more complex figures when you get used to making stick figure poses?

Yeah, start as stick figure to get the basic pose and then just slap some meat on those bones and add more detail in.

Some stuff from about Wednesday to today. A Vaughn Bode inspired piece, Godzilla doing a flip trick, and a character redesign.

I like how Proko explains it:

Draw from observation. I recommend a youtube channel with lots of nudes posing in timed intervals.

There's also another channel that makes helpful videos about figure drawing, and have a series about gesture.

Hope these resources help!

It's pretty old art but it's my favorite one. Call me a weeb but there was a time I wanted to emulate the 90s anime look, and so this was the result.

Stick figures work just fine for a beginner, though it's better to draw what you see rather than what you know. I also recommend drawing from observation in real time as in "go outside and draw whatever you see in front of you". Scribble in the bus or in the local park or while waiting for the next train, wherever works. Not to say still visuals aren't enough, it's just that there are more things to explore while drawing. Not only that, you'll gradually learn to draw fast with the limited time you have to capture as many subjects and movements to be transferred into pen and paper.

I never see anything wrong with 90's anime aesthetics. It's good shit. Your drawing great. Reminds me of light novel character
Is only a snazzy edit, or did you actually draw all that shit? Whatever the case, nice work.
I wish I could of drew these. I just put every little thing together. Usually takes about hr or 2 with the erasing backgrounds and around the body (basically cleaning every part of character), cropping, filtering and adding outlines for some of the pics used because the original sources have some parts of the body cropped out so I add to it and make sure the curvatures and what not connect to the existing body.
I used to have some drawings like it but they were in my older phone.

Sorry my coloring is not up to your standards

Literally nobody said anything bad about it?
Don't take one dislike reaction to heart, if anyone is like me and is on mobile it's really easy to hit the wrong button, they're tiny. You're not gonna please everyone no matter what and where you post. You shouldn't really take things to heart, especially on the farms of all places.
