Luyinda Ngozulu, a Bayombi huntress, has grown worried for her little brother Mayele's safety. As their community's healer, Mayele has gone off to collect some rare herbs, but he's been missing for half a moon now. Luyinda, who has recently heard the terrible roar of the steeltooth (T. rex) echo near their village, fears the worst may have happened to him---but it may not be what she expects.

Both Luyinda's personal and family name are derived from the Kikongo language of Central Africa; Luyinda is a common woman's name for the Bakongo ethnic group (Mayele on the other hand is a male name), whereas Ngozulu means "eagle" (though in her setting it would probably equate to large pterosaurs). The arrow she's just nocked is supposed to have a huge steel point for piercing tough skin all the way through dense bone.

As for this art piece, I doodled it to kill time while waiting for my parents at hospital. I chose flat colors this time to give this the look of a DeviantArt "character reference sheet".

I recently got back from vacation and haven't been able to bring myself to draw nice art so please enjoy some recent doodlings.

Filthy pizza gorillia and his deviant feline lover playing around in a dumpster like the rubbish they are. How lewd!

Experimenting with new Sai Brushes. Maybe a little lewd.

I swear that goddamn blue bear sucks the life out of everything it touches.
Also I need to get me some stencils for speech bubbles. It's so much harder to type dialogue in when you've drawn wonky-ass bubbles.

I agree on the blue bear thing. I enjoy these comics of yours every time I see 'em.

@Geo, how many hours do you usually take for your artwork? $15 sounds awfully cheap for the Full Color version, unless those take a really long time for you.

Anyway...

luyinda_is_steamy_by_brandonspilcher-d8yuz0p.jpg

I wanted to take another stab at my jungle heroine Luyinda Ngozulu, this time with her in a sexy pin-up position. In the process I made some tweaks to her design (e.g. shortening her Afro just a bit and changing the leg on which her scarification is inscribed). In case you're curious, those are not leaves sticking out of her hair but feathers for camouflage while hunting in the jungle.

I have to say that if there's one plus to the steamy heat of the tropics, it gives women a practical reason to show off more skin! :D

Senenmut Schemes
Though born into the literate commoner class of New Kingdom Egypt, Senenmut apparently worked his way up to becoming the royal architect and high steward of Pharaoh Hatshepsut herself. He is the one who claimed credit for designing her famous Mortuary Temple at Deir el-Bahri near Waset/Thebes (modern Luxor). Though Senemut seems to have died a bachelor, his ostensibly close relationship with Hatshepsut has inspired the popular portrayal of him as her handsome paramour. I wouldn't say that scenario is impossible, but I prefer to imagine him as this smarmy old guy who's...desperately anticipating special favors from Her Majesty. A lot of dudes back then would have considered a female Pharaoh quite the trophy, much to her vexation, and none would creep her own more than an old dude in her own administration.

So here's Senenmut brainstorming another scheme to get what he wants from Hatshepsut. Any resemblance to Bill Cosby in either appearance or personality is, I assure you, wholly intentional.

@TyrannoNinja I usually take about 5-8h for a full color piece. I'm competing with a lot of art styles that are considerably faster than me, so I really felt the need to cut the price to remain competitive - most people also don't seem to do a by-hour rate, so I wanted to remain a little more transparent.
