I've been playing the Zero/ZX Collection and fuck me the Zero games have the best music in the series as a whole, especially with Zero 2 when Inti Creates hired an actual guitar player as a composer which really shows since 2 is when the music really kicks my ass:

I only powered through these games again despite my old man dexterity because the music kept getting me psyched up.

Armored Core has some real gems. I prefer the old gens (ps1/2 era) for gameplay, but 4 and For Answer had some great music. Old gen was catchy in that kinda crusty japanese sci-fi style of the 90s/early 00's, and 4/FA had some nice orchestral and desert punk offerings.

Is this track actually bad? I see a decent amount of hate for it, but I never had a problem with it myself. Yes it’s high-pitched and a bit discordant, but it fits the area well and sounds decent IMO.
