Powerchat Megathread - formerly Loulztips

I figured we needed a dedicated thread to discuss Powerchat and the ongoing scandals involving it.

There were whispers last week of Nick wanting a 20% cut of Powerchat (can someone provide me a source on that), and a video of Loulz saying he was going to disassociate with Baked and Nick over banning Jaden and also criticized them for paying attention to their online bullies.

Then there is also accusations directed at Kino Casino about what they knew and when, and they have said they were no longer be using Powerchat. There are also claims that KC donators were doxed to Baked Alaska since he’s part owner of Powerchat, but I haven’t seen any evidence of that, if you have any please link me and I’ll update this post. The explanation given by Kino Casino(again from my understanding) is that any payments made through Paypal, if you use your real name with Paypal, will show the recipient of the superchat the name of the donator. So don’t use Paypal to donate.

I was given these screenshots of info on Powerchat and a shell company called LateraTech LLC which shares the same address as Powerchat - and Shawn Mccreless(Loulz) listed on it as well.




LateraTech LLC may not be related to Powerchat specifically, could be another venture of Loulz, but if anyone wants to do some good old fashioned gumshoe, that would be great.

It’s also possible, since Baked is part owner of Powerchat, LateraTechLLC could be Baked Alaska’s shell company. LateraTech LLC is currently registered anonymously.

I don’t believe this to be related, but was also provided YOBA LLC’s info - maybe it will be helpful to link to LateraTech.

Doing a google search led me to discover there was a PDF uploaded of LateraTech LLC already to Kiwifarms(but it was a direct download, not sure what thread it’s in)

Cutoff from my original screenshot(which I’ll update) it shows actually that Loulz was REMOVED from Powerchat and that LateraTech LLC was ADDED - so it is most likely Baked Alaska’s.

honestly I think the powerchat thing is a nothingburger. he is trying to get on-site payment processing set up on cozy and is using powerchat for that. this is part of monetizing cozy which it currently is not, he's just paying for bandwidth out of pocket. it makes sense that he needs to take a cut so that cozy can grow and become a profitable platform without ads. bandwidth is not cheap for a site like this

That's true of every platform that accepts PayPal. I've seen other creators say RL names from Paypal donations, usually with the donator's consent. If you're using Paypal, you are implicitly and unavoidably trusting the creator with that information.

Is the only scandal here that Baked Alaska can see that information instead of just PPP/Warski?

Right, this is also how Ethan Ralph(convicted sex offender) has also doxed people I believe.

And can Baked Alaska see that info? I don't know.

See, the distrust in stuff like Powerchat is EXACTLY the big problem with so-called "alt tech", why would someone use the platform if it has, arguably worse problems than usual tech.

I'd argue this isn't alt tech but grift tech. It's not free or open source. They're not trying to benefit anyone but themselves and their crew.
I wouldn't put this in the same category as Mastodon.

Dalton Clodfelter from CozyTV has been BANNED from PayPal.

This could possibly be blowback from the doxing of donators by Beardson Beardly just 2 weeks ago that started a deep dive into Cozy's payment processor. Would be very interesting to see if other Powerchat users get banned.

I think I have seen this before: claiming to be hot shit even though you are living in hard times, money laundering, and people's important information possibly being used sinisterly... but you know it might be deja vu.
