Currently I use the C-4 Pre-workout powder, and I'm really fucking considering switching my pre-workout.
I partake in a shit-ton of cardio and weight-lifting, and if the autist-ADHD energy doesn't kick in, I use pre workout. It does work, but now I'm more worried about my health, considering how many times I've drank pre workout (which God forbid I have heartburn again.) I don't want to exceed my limits when it comes to caffeine and the sorts, but I want the same feeling of energy coursing through me when I lift. Any fellow gym rats willing to give me reccs? Appreciate it.

Preworkout in general is just overpriced caffeine powder. The only other ingredients that actually make a difference IMO are L-citrulline, Beta alanine, and Taurine, which you can all buy in bulk for cheap.

I don't follow my own advice though lmao. Gorilla mode is good if you want something lower stim (comes with creatine too.) Ryse Godzilla if you want to go apeshit.

This.

Either use the occasional sugar-free Monster or similar drink, or just smash the water.

I've lifted for years, and I can point to very, very few sessions where a pre-workout or energy drink actually made me feel different. Once you've warmed up sufficiently, you can perform.

Intra-workout drinks/snacks can be a little different for longer sessions, but you just need calories and electrolytes, which can be virtually anything.

Never used any pre-workout since I think they are all bullshit. I think I had a redbull a few times (if that counts), but I didn't feel any difference from just having some pasta and a banana.

/fat fuck who hasn't hit the gym in 5 months now...

This x2.

Thing is while you can buy everything in bulk, unless you're hyper autistic about min/maxxing your gains and macros you're probably better off just getting the pre-workout, and that's if you even need it.

The only thing I buy in bulk is creatine and that's because it's just one of those supplements where quality isn't really a thing, and all that matters is you get it in your diet, so getting it as cheap as possible for like $50 for a years worth is better than getting it in pills for a $30 month's supply.

Personally I like taking pre-workout, if for nothing more than a spergy ritual to tell myself "I will be working out in 15-20 minutes". My autistic shit aside, there's a lot of choices but hands down Gorilla mode is the most optimal. The owner is very big on efficacious dosages and includes the research for the products on the product page itself. Hell, on other products where the research doesn't definitively point one way or another they make it very clear that it might help, or it might not.

Energy drinks used purely as placebo to make you work harder is all you need, optionally start your workout with 2x10 reps of roadhouse kicks whilst making the most cutting remark to a stranger. This is best done outside by a stripped down muscle car that people who walk by you think your working on but in all reality hasn't been touched in a year because your waiting on that one part that you know is never coming but you still pretend it is and that's the only reason you cant work on it more.
BANG DRINKERS CREATE HARD TIMES.webp

I recommend shit over pre-workout, because preworkout makes you vomit, too. While you're shitting.

I recently restarted going to the gym and going Bare/Raw and Natural without stims.

I used to 2scoop Gorilla Mode before going to the gym for before I took a break for a year. While im nowhere where I was when I stopped I feel slightly better. I took clumpy old GM and tried it when I returned and ended throwing it up in the parking lot before the workout anyways. As well as the second day. Now I dont really give a fuck about it.
I thought I needed it or it got me in a mode initially, but after that I've been just fine.
I still just take L n' L atm and I'm seeing noticeable change without it so I'm of the mindset that I probably won't be needing pre again.

I went to school with this guy. When we first started he was a skinny pencil neck looking dude. All he consumed was nuts, fresh vegetables and chunks of meat, all the time. He just ate small amounts of all those things regularly throughout the day and he just worked out whenever he got the chance. He also idolized.l Arnold Schwarzenegger's version of Conan. After two years the dude was a jacked up monster of a man.

Throw a bunch of fruits and veggies into a blender, make a smoothie, drink that, take some vitamin supplements with it if you want, maybe stuff that isn't in the smoothie.
Make sure to do it 90 minutes before training, that's more or less how long it takes for your body to turn it into energy.
Works better than some powder.

The best workout supplement bar none is caffeine, you don't need fancy muscle hipster slop.
I figured, but buying monster in bulk seems a bit more expensive than a preworkout supplement.
nevermind, I should just buy it individually 🥲

I like C4 but that stuff is massively overpriced
C-4 IS overpriced. I tend to try and wait till my paycheck comes before buying another canister. creatine always does the trick with coffee too.

A stockpile of pre-ban Jack3d found in an old warehouse.

Caffeine powder + creatine + water, or coffee gets the job done for me.

Creatine does fuck-all as a pre-workout and only serves to pad out ingredient lists if you're buying a ready-made preworkout.

The only shit that should be in preworkouts are stimulants (and stimulant-related stuff that makes the stimulants work more better). Caffeine, Citrulline, Alanine, DMAA, etc.

A black coffee. Pre-workout powder is for consoomer retards.
If you need to ingest a bunch of RC stimulants to complete your workout you're not going to make it.

I used to slam a sugar free monster but switched to G Fuel powder when I realized it was cheaper long term.
