I posted on ED a lot, before the DeGrippo incident. Now I mostly hang around here and Giant Bomb.
DeGrippo incident?
The ED takedown and the formation of Oh Internet.
I used to edit a fair bit on ED as well, under a different username, and I lost a lot of edits in that purge.

This is the only forum I've ever been part of. I'm not much of a talker.

I was on the cwcki forums back in 2010, I think that was when they instituted the whole "retard points" thing, and I was so afraid of getting one. It was late 2010, during Chris's exile.

I'm into super sentai, and while Shinkenger was airing, I would browse the forums, I was too afraid to sign up and this is why: I ship ShinkenRed and ShinkenYellow, because Yellow actually develops feelings for him, but this one shipper from England ships ShinkenRed and ShinkenPink because she believes "they are like the mum and dad of the team" and there was a fake wedding episode, the whole thing is messed up. And would bombard the forums with it, and screenshots that she believed were "shippy." It made me feel discouraged. The sad thing was, she has a crush on ShinkenRed's actor, and thinks she is ShinkenPink. She's actually older than me, which is really scary.

The thing was, most sentai forums are associated with power rangers, which I don't like being associated with (sentai loyalist). I started an account on one, but then I got bored with it.

I finally earned the ire of the crazy shipper, though. But that's another story...

I joined Something Awful in 2004, and was a member until 2007 when I was permabanned for making fun of Lowtax's toe-sucking and general incompetence.

I also posted on SASS and its spinoffs until they ended for various reasons.

It's much more than that! But as far as Christory is concerned, what you said covers it.

Do BBS count as forums if we used them as message boards? If so, then I started farting around with it in 91 or so.
If not, then I guess around 1996 or so? I think it was on korn.com, and I got banned a lot for being too awesome (ie. trolling the fuck out of everyone).
I used to be pretty active on a few forums related to music, technology and such; but kinda stopped when I moved to a place with no internet.
This is the only forum I use currently, which I use mostly to keep up on what Chris may or may not be up to. I've got a kind of sick interest in him now, as I've been following antics since a few days before he was the featured article on ED.com.

One time, a friend of mine made a Pokemon board and I became an admin on it. The board had a rule that if a mod or admin told you to stop doing something, stop doing it. And there was this one user who wouldn't listen to me and I got frustrated and banned them for two days. Then I guess he complained and I got banned and demoted and he became an admin. (I was demoted to a local mod of the General Board)

So naturally, I complained about this and basically tried to annoy him a lot, becuase I felt this was really unfair because he was disobeying an admin. Eventually, he got so fed up with me he completely deleted my account. But then the original admin, she decided that she didn't want him on the board either so she deleted his account.

Then a few weeks later, I made a new account but one of my friends was know admin but I didn't care and I became a global mod.

also, i was everyone on that forum.

Also I post on EvaGeeks, NeoGAF, the Allspark, and that's it, I think. Nothing important to say there. Except I got really lucky on GAF because when you first get your account activated, you're a junior member and any banning is a perma-ban for juniors. I was lucky because my first (and thus far only) ban was literally a few hours after I became a full member.

Also I've been permabanned from like every forum I go on barring this one (and the predecessors I was a member of), NeoGAF, EvaGeeks, and the Allspark.

Holy crap, I loved that forum. I frequented it as a lurker years ago. I thought of setting up an account but I never got around to it. Maybe I should one of these days...

The only forum I ever bothered with was Dr. Ashens Birdbath, which got taken down for some dodgy reasons (someone was doing something with the PM system but no idea what). There were like 15 regulars at very most on that forum, but I thought it was really cool. Had some drama though which was basically taking the piss out of some stupid teen called teaspoon. After it fell one of the regulars made another replacement forum and everything went a bit weird and Ashens left the land forever. Then one of the regs got really fucking aggressive with everyone and everyone gave up on it (probably, last time I logged in was over a year ago and the last post was Mr. Aggressive-pants shouting at an ex-reg for only posting like 5 times in the last 6 months).

That's the only other forum I've been on except this one, which I've been lurking since it was originally just a page on the CWCki (not really a forum but I srsly loved that page).

I lurked around the Forumer incarnations of the CWCki forum without ever really posting, and decided to start posting once the permanent site went up. I also frequently read the MacRumors forums, but I don't post very often unless it's around the time of an an Apple product launch/announcement or I have a question to ask/can answer someone else's question.

Got started on an MMA / BJJ board. Lurked a bit, until I was confident enough in my English. Promptly got in a heated argument with a lot of people. I called someone's Brown Belt bullshit, which is an absolute no-no unless you have proof. I ended up spending a few hundred dollars to visit their gym, so I could kick the shit out of them, humiliate them, and become queen bitch of the board. I was triangle-choked out in under a minute. She didn't even break a sweat. Turned out she was an absolutely legit Brown Belt, bestowed by Andre “Negao” Terencio. Fortunately they were cool enough about it to give me private lessons. I eventually ended up training under one of her teammates. I still pick fights constantly on forums, but I'm wise enough to not let it escalate past virtual blows (unless I'm certain I'll win).

I still spend a fair amount of time on foodie and travel forums. I'll occasionally visit antique collectors (particularly early plastic jewelry and electronics), but I have to resist the urge to spend myself into oblivion. On forums where I don't regularly flirt with controversy or confrontation - yes I can be civil - people often assume I'm in my 50s or 60s. I'm actually kind of cool with that.

Not too much of a forum person since I'm actually pretty shy and thus feel very intimidated by being the new kid. But there are a few I can share.

I don't remember the name of my first forum. I was just a dumb, but nice, middle schooler on a site with a lot of dumb kids so not really worth mentioning, aside from the fact that people thought I was a guy, and a user around my age who hated me became a mod and abused his powers so I left. I was at the very end of my stupid internet kid phase by then due to my experiences on that board.

The next forum was a couple years later and I do remember the name of, but I won't name it because after close to a year of being an active member I was accused of joining the board to stalk former and brief boyfriend (even though I found the place on my own and didn't pay much attention to him) and received a permaban for it. Along with the threat of a lawsuit for stalking. The upside though is, the majority of the mods openly disagreed with the head admin's actions and said I did nothing wrong and I definitely wasn't stalking the guy (his response was pretty much "tough shit, he was here first so I'm going to believe him"), and many regular members said the same. The really good thing though is I met my current boyfriend there. We were best friends until 2010 when I finally realized the true nature of my feelings and things progressed from that.

I've been part of the Koopatorivm for a long-ass time now, although the current board is rather new and quiet (the old site was hacked by Russians who thoroughly infected the main site with viruses to the point where it was just easier to have it shut down and open a new one). It's a Mario site geared towards older fans. I don't know how well know it is/was since most, if not all, well known Mario sites and forums refused to be affiliated with us since we openly accept porn as fanart.

There's the Never Say Never Again forums. It's a small board (and website) for fans of the An American Tail series. I don't think we have anyone younger than 15 posting currently. There are only a few members counting me so there's not much for me to say. There's only been one ban that I know of, though one douchebag ragequit the place when no one liked his posts or agreed with his opinions.

Not much of interest from me. When I was 13 back in 2002-03 or something, I'd troll (really stupidly but it was fun) IMDB with immature bullshit. Then I got bored with that.

Tend to join forums waaaay too late, so I just change my thread display settings and read the really super old threads and my post count would be like 2 or 6 or something. But actually, I kinda think low post counts are neat (I also try not to talk IRL, but that's a different thing). Read/archive super old threads, nothing else of interest, time for me to go.

Was on Devart_horrors at LiveJournal around 2004-06, then DeviantArtSnark after devart_horrors got zapped. Went downhill fast, and my taste in Internet shitfests got more refined. But art-based internet shitfests still hold a special place in my heart.

I was a member of PVCC since its earliest incarnation (Dec 2008) - that was actually quite fun. I think I've seen a few other corrupted citizens here and there. I dong bring up. Got culled shortly after Bob died, and I'll admit, despite posting very little, I really missed the hell out of that place. Yes, there was an elitist mindset, so I put off joining CWCki forums, but in the end I'm glad I did. You people are all right!

Sometimes I pop into FountainPenNetwork.

And that's all that's worth saying.

I only keep in touch with a very good pen pal who I met at devart_horrors in '06.

Based on just that part alone, I'd swear you were someone else, but then I saw your post in the fanart thread.

Welcome to the cool side of the forum. This is where all the cool users drink frozen coffee and talk about the big game and what a bitch the trig teacher is.

In my spare time I troll a metroid forum, mostly because I really dont care about metroid. I can pretty much get away with anything since I'm now best buds with all the admin and mods. So much so that if I were to kill this one kid who keeps saying metroid other M was a good game, the mods would probably not only be okay with it, but they would also help me hide the body.

I posted on Sailor Moon Uncensored for years. I stopped visting it about a year before it shutdown because there weren't a lot of people posting on it. I actually miss it because aside from my occasional posts here I don't really interact with anyone else online.

My first forum was the incredibly unpolished and inactive forum of a French pirate game that was all the rage at school in 2006. I kept playing said game long after everyone else stopped giving a shit, but it's currently locked into a vicious cycle - admins stopped updating the English version of the game due to not enough donations, so people stopped playing, so they continue not to update, so people continue not to play. Kinda shitty, but it was a shitty game, so whatever.
Then I joined the ONM forums (basically the British equivalent of Nintendo Power) and I had a good time for a while but the place was (and still is) and elitist hole. I go on there once every few months, mostly out of boredom.
I had much more fun on a smaller forum (now gone) that was sort of an ONM spinoff, except it was mostly populated by gay furries. Even though the forum is gone, the skype group is still around, so I still talk to all of them. They're great guys.
Then I joined the forum of a particular webcomic that I still frequent, despite never posting outside of the Super Secret Elitist Circlejerk Forum, since I'm one of the oldest members who still posts and I don't like most of the new members because they're all nerds.
And then I started posting here, although I'm not very active.

I remember two other boards I used to go on Bulbagarden and TV Tropes Forums. I don't have much to say except that (in a bit of hilariousness), the mods completely banned from even accessing TV Tropes like two weeks before one of my friends on Facebook who was like an admin at Bulbagarden asked me if I wanted to be unbanned. And then a while later, I get banned from Bulbagarden again and I end up having access to TV Tropes again.

Now I'm banned from the TVT forum again but not the site though.

I was a /b/tard on 4chan before I found this place. During high school, It was a great outlet for my angst and rage at the world. I only just grew out of it and want nothing more to do with it, mainly because I developed a conscious and memes are becoming less and less funny with age. Now I'm working on my own old fashioned BBS server using Synchronet and an old Pentium 4 tower. Not because I want to be like moot, but because I love old technology and early 90's computing. Once its ready, I might post an address to it on the forum. Not sure how many people here know how to dial into a BBS, but now a days you don't even need a phone line to go into one. So it should be easy.

Also, I find people here more likable than on 4chan. Like we're all one big happy family with one thing in common... :tomgirl:
