Privacy Checkup 2021

I was always a bit confused at that Firefox is still in privacytools.io but nowadays other places are saying it uses your data or its not safe? Not sure of what I should believe. Tried getting Brave, and that thing runs as slow as molasses for some reason.
You could use a fork like Waterfox that removes telemetry. I usually use Brave or Waterfox on desktop, and Bromite or Brave on mobile.
Edit: Responses indicate Waterfox is no longer a good alternative.

VPNwise whats recommended?

because i swear shit like VPNord smell of feds honeypot.
Mullvad. You sign up by getting an account number, you can then pay by sending them a number linked to your account, with £5 in the mail. No email, no paypal or card linking you (unless you want to pay by card) to the account, it's great. No long contract like Nord.

It's not ideal as Sweden is still part of the X eyes spying groups. But it's still pretty good imo.

7 days currently. Changes based on current threat.

no.
Does it log all the IPs users used in the last 7 days, or just the most recent one?

The real redpill is to use someone else's username so they take the blame

edit: DO NOT look up my username
People whine about anime pfp's but I just know someone out there also has my username and is using fanart of the same character*. Embrace opsec, embrace anime.

*Just googled it, and there are several twitter users. Nice.

Waterfox it self is on shaky ground since it was picked up by an ad agency. Its still "safe" for now but could change at any second, so be aware. I still use it for support for multirow tabs and old addons that can't be ported to webextenstions, but I have all auto updating turned off in case.

A safer bet is something like GNU IceCat which is an autistic fork of FF to be Free Software Foundation complaint.
You can get windows builds in a few places like https://github.com/muslayev/icecat-win64

I've seen people memeing about NordVPN and their Raid Shadow Legends-esque marketing, but is it actually a bad choice for a VPN?

Every time I enter teh Farmz, my real identity phases into standby mode and the one talking to you now is the schadenfreude wielding side that has no relation to the real person. Anonymity is like a warming blanket, and when scoping lolcows, you better leave your family man identity behind.

The VPN tip is great tho, makes sense to cloak yourself from doxxing - Gonna go for it, domo alligator @Null

Is watching what I say on this website a good way to not get doxxed or am I just always susceptible to some fucker exposing me?
Always be cautious and as someone mentioned earlier it’s not a bad idea to fib some personal details here and there.

That’s part of the reason I did the Alpharius thing. There’s 1000s of meme accounts that are some variation of IAmAlpharius.

This is the most important thing to keep in mind, imo. Especially if you live in a speech hostile nation like Bongland.
Self-moderation of your speech might not be as fun but neither is getting a visit from Her Majesty's Illegal Meme Division.

"Oi, Cunt! Yew got a loicence fer that shitpost?"
Or just use 3 layers of irony & metaphors. Sarcasm is the vpn for speech

Exit nodes are irrelevant if you're using SSL, which all serious websites, including this one, are.

Onions don't even use exit nodes. If you're using the onion service, you have way better protection than with any VPN.
The issue with someone like an ISP or an exit node acting as a man in the middle isn't necessarily that they see your data. SSL encryption, which you're correct in saying almost all websites use, will prevent either of them from seeing it. It's that they know which sites you visit.

Tor clients try to defeat this sort of attack by using a different Tor circuit for every site you visit, but if the same person is able to run enough of the exit nodes, they can start to correlate data and tell which sites you're visiting.

If you're worried about your government snooping on you and potentially putting anyone who visits Kiwifarms on some kind of list, a VPN based in a freer country is probably safer than Tor. VPN + Tor is probably the safest method entirely (and if you're using an onion service you'll have to use Tor).

The exit nodes don't know who's visiting it, though. They don't have your IP, only the IP of the middle node.

This is absolutely retarded and awful advice.

If you're going to upload a photo that you took yourself for whatever reason, strip the metadata first. It can contain embedded information from the type of device you took the picture on up to GPS location. There are different ways to do this but the easiest is to just take a screenshot of the photo and use that instead of the original.

It should also be said, take the Rich Evans Apologist approach: don't go out of your way to deliberately goad and antagonize people into trying to dig up information on you unless you're very, very sure that they're completely incompetent.

Many a doXxXXxXxXxXxXxX can be boiled down to some cocksure retard picking a fight with someone intelligent and bored enough to dig through their post history for PII that they stupidly threw out and just assumed no-one would piece together.

Another of my techniques is to just not fucking have social media altogether - makes it a little harder to dig up the dirt.
