Private profiles are for babies. If you're scared or worried you've done something embarrassing take a moment to recall that this is the internet and for the most part a majority of us are strangers. Now if you dox yourself, well...that's kind of your fault, right?

Also why are all banned members private?

One thing that's of benefit with that is you don't get a bunch of people dancing on the grave of a banned member who can't respond to the posts on their profile. If people could do that it would agitate the banned to make alts to come back to be able to have a voice (not that they need much encouragement, but still).

XenForo probably does that because of spammers. On normal forums with normal people, advertisers try to join and shill links on their profile page for google SEO. Banning them stops that.

Hey @Null sock accounts and lolcows are abusing private profiles here.

This made halaling users with shit OPsec and retards hide behind Private accounts tiresome. This made halaling retards and milking forumcows harder.
Halal butchers shit up profile pages of users like @FakeAFClausMystery to avoid derailing threads with Off-topic content for example.
Users can't visit sock account for same reason

Recent updates made milking harder. Sock accounts can hide behind Private profiles.
This made work harder for people like me, @Admiral Throbnelius @Sperg Spectating and others.

Consider changing privileges, making private account a True and Honest perk.

Private profiles are abused limiting banned profiles prevent me taking screenshots for threads or archive them with archive.is for example.
Since this thread is here making a new thread pointing this out would've been redundant.

This update crippled halal threads. I humbly request a rollback

A lot of users want to shit-talk & gossip every single day about other people, but cannot have their profile open in a website like this?

Only losers would repeatedly go to their filthy profiles anyways.

This is by far the worst change for the site I've seen yet. Other users have already mentioned how it cripples halal threads, so I'll just say that people could've just used the ignore function for feral retards commenting on their accounts if they didn't want to see it. It has made going through previous posts more tedious (not impossible), viewing recent activity more tedious, and has allowed people to hide the embarrassing comments they've made on their own profile.
Maybe not the thread for it, but I'll also say that hiding banned profiles and trying to keep ban reasons unknown is retarded. I can just skim through post history using the search function. It's not like users can't find out why, so the "cloak and dagger" moderation is gay and doesn't even prevent you from knowing if you're willing to search for it. It just makes the website more tedious to use.

I am aware of the caveat with lolcow profiles and will make a change to fix that eventually.
