This is a semi-spinoff of the NixOS article thread, which started as a discussion about how AGP’s hijacked a successful Linux distro and forced out “Nazi’s” aka people who they didn’t like for whatever fucking reason they could come up with. This opened a broader conversation on the decline of modern software and the pozzed nature of the tech industry because of the inundation of troons these past 5 years. Obviously, they are not the primary problem, but are a huge enough piece of the shit pie to warrant its own thread.

The most frustrating bastions of software development trannies have ruined for me, personally would have to be small Linux distros, Rust programming, and PC Game Modding.

Current maintainers took less than a month to plaster it in pride flags, frequent downtime and technical issues that were not previously present.

Minecraft - PLAGUED by troon devs on both the mod loader, modding and content creation sides, several schisms from 'problematic' behavior have fissured the modding community literally in two with two (or three, or FOUR) different loaders. This even extends to instance managers with half a dozen now existing over failed purity tests. Notable trannies include Eloraam (inactive) and Vazkii (added unskippable screens to his mods preaching about Saint Floyd and the 2016 election. In a block game.)

HoI4 Modding community-Specifically TNO and other total conversion mods. Made most of the TNO devs quit around late 2021, subsequently grinding development to a halt. As an addendum, one of its former lead devs, Pacifica(himself a troon), failed upwards and got into a position within Paradox Interactive (the devs of HoI4), working as an event designer for Victoria 3, game that was critically panned during its realease and early days

Space Station 13 - Very old spaceman game from 2003 that runs on an old version of C# from 1998 (I think). It's a very simple game to learn coding wise, however around 2020-2021 troons started to infest the dev teams for servers and add shit like pronouns, tranny flags, and degenerate ERP shit. Nowadays every single developer for this game is a tranny, even SS14 is owned by troons and has it's own developer drama involving tranny ERP shit.

Going to repeat what I said in various other threads. But Doom modding went to shit. Not the mods themselves, but the community around it. An edgy game for edgelords and a modding community where anything goes will now ban you if you so much as mention anyone deemed persona non grata. Especially Brutal Doom creator Sgt Mk.4

Another is Godot (a game engine). The engine itself is fine, but the community is ruined by jannies who are more interested in pronouns and pride flags than game development. When called out on this, they'd do some nonsense with roles and channels to stifle discussion. I remember when people objected to the year round pride logo, they gave them a custom role "obsessed with other peoples genitals". I also remember them banning pepes. Just today the official discord server was basically shut down and the jannies migrated to a new "official" server. I've not bothered joining because the original was basically unusable, and the new one is likely made so they could gatekeep and censor harder.

It is almost impossible, because even if you get the most TTD dev team in existance, you can't control who downloads it, and due to troons being terminally online, they will eventually find out that your team has strangely (by their standards) low numbers of alphabets there, and if your response isn't getting on your knees begging for them to ruin your project, they then brandish you as an enemy. And that's taking for granted that none of your own devs troons out in the future, like with Celeste.

Your best bet is to lay low and hope that the thing you are working on isn't a beacon for troons (main examples of this being late 90s anime, particulary Serial Experiments Lain, early imageboard culture/archival/revival sites, any androginous or crossdressing characters or theming, general coomerism, satanic or satanic-adjacent undertones, and also hyper-autistic hobbies like TTRPGs and the like, this thread ennumerates them), and pray that, if it gets popular, normal people drown the trooniest parts of whatever you are doing, because having an audience that's mainly troons is a death sentence

I host all of my code by myself, so anyone who wants to contact me has to use e-mail after somehow finding me. So far, I've entirely avoided annoying faggots and Indians trying to get a T-shirt. If I want any drama, I must make it. I did send a mean spirited e-mail to a Google employee lately, but she's yet to get back to me.

Just don't have a community. It's your only option. Meh. When you release code into the PD, you have to expect that someone might actually use it for something, including something commercial. I would take it as a personal mark of pride, that either my code is that good, or the people putting it in a commercial product are that pathetic/stupid.

this is why i release all my code publicly under the GPL. you can argue ti isnt perfect, and id agree, but i think copy left is important. i hate when companies take the work of free software devs and use it to make closed source proprietary crap. if you guys are going to take my work, not pay me for it, then at least you can make sure that it stays free software.
