to emphasize this would not have ever been good yes on a conceptual level its garbage, but it would have been finished had phil been a different person

Adam Sandler makes sure to get his buddies paid as well, in a lot of movies he just writes roles for them for paychecks. DSP couldn't do that, of course, because he had to pay bills.

According to Howard and Rambo's video, Respect the Pact edited the video. They had some experience in editing and VFX (which they also did in some shooting scene). In the end it turns out it was a lot of work, and when Rambo confronted DSP to ask him to pay them, he said that he "asked them but they didn't want". He sticks to this story on other occasions, when asked on ATK and such.

Clearly, he was seeing himself as some kind of superstar, when everyone but him did most of the work for Project 7, but he just took the credit for it and expected the exposure they get to change their lives. From what I understood, Paul from Respect the Pact was having a child and was unable to continue for free.

I recommend Tevin's stream about this, since he goes to DSP's response videos as well and adds extra context and lore.
