Project Wingman

Probably the best Ace Combat in a while, but the OST is pretty hit and miss compared to those games. Hard to play AC after having 3 special weapons as well as regular missiles. The Prez Everywhere mod and cut planes mod are needed to get the most out of the game after the first run though, since mostly everyone just runs the PW after completion.

Also ez money glitch, sell a plane with a controller, when the prompt appears, hover the mouse over yes and hammer space bar as many times as want. Can sell multiple copies of same plane for excess money to buy out everything.

Did they ever add the A-10 in?
Not officially, but fully working in the mod as far as I've seen.

Incredible game. There's really not anything quite like it, except the entire ace combat series. This is my first ace combat game. I may disagree with crimson 1, but I admire his dedication. I really like him.

Hello, I am having an issue with this game. I see videos on youtube of people going at speeds of 2000+, but the top speeds I can reach with any plane cap at somewhere around 1,200. I have set throttle to shift and brakes to control. This is really bugging me and I have no idea how to go fast

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

A little late, but for those who didn't know there was a orchestra rendition of the ost made for its one year anniversary last spring

While it gained some attention, it also raised some concern since the game would be likely exclusive to PS platform and only playable with VR according from /aceg/ anons.

UPDATE: /aceg/ is not looking good.

Got this in my Steam notifications, too, looks like they're coming back to work on the game more.

Update news here. Considering I wasn't expecting any more development, I'm pleasantly surprised.

Same here. Looks like they're getting behind the mods, which is nice to see. Even with the limited tools at hand there's been some impressive stuff made like throwing together some new missions out of cutting room scraps and expanding the in-game lore entries, so rolling with how autistic the fans doesn't have many downsides. for these guys.

Hell, someone converted a mission to fucking Halo. If they go hard enough into conversions we may just get our autistic fighter sim we've always wanted. Blake and Kerensky willing, even AeroTech.

They promised a 1.5 update (now 2.0) a while ago before going damn near silent, seems to be the silence was because of the Frontline 59.

It sucks that Frontline 59 will be a PS exclusive for the foreseeable future, the devs gave a non answer on discord regarding Frontline 59 coming to PC or xbox, i imagine they won't say much for a while given parts of the fanbases extremely negative reaction to Frontline 59, mess all around.

Not to mention whatever nonsense NDA Sony probably put them under.

Turned my PS5 on for the first time in probably more than a year to play Frontline 59, I had enough snoybucks in my wallet doing nothing.

The port is very good, much better than the Xbox One version as most of the graphical bugs have been ironed out. There's no longer "text" placeholders everywhere in the menus either.

Not finished the DLC story yet but so far it's great fun.

Project Wingman was a game that looked like a game I wanted to play, but ended up not being a game I wanted to play.

Which always sat wrong with me. Because it looks like a game I want to play.

idk, from what I played it played a lot like Ace Combat which meant it was often boring/turning/diving/going in again! which made the more outrageous sections super special.

So.

I always wondered why Ace Combat was so highly regarded. It always felt like a normal game to me. Is it that Ace Combat makes a cool looking flight game more approchable to people without half a flight sim stuffed into their closet?

At its core It's an arcade game with realistic trappings. Then at certain points in the game it lets loose and goes bonkers, those moments are very memorable and fun. Ace Combat example: You're taught "realistic" arcade flight combat for hours and suddenly you have to scramble through canyons like if it was a Star Wars trench run, something that would be absurd to even attempt in [fighter jet you're piloting]. That's truly exciting but if the whole game was like that it wouldn't be exciting at all.

That does sound fun. And it also explains why I probably never made it too far into the Ace Combat games. Always felt wanting more.

And now I want to play Rogue Squadron 3 for some reason... talk about a game leaving you wanting more.

It helps the writing's pretty corny, which sells the whole thing.
