Project Wingman

Project Wingman reminds me most of Ace Combat 4, most missions involve blowing up a ton of enemies. I don't think there are any gimmick missions. Which is fine to me, I gimmick missions usually suck.

That does sound fun. And it also explains why I probably never made it too far into the Ace Combat games. Always felt wanting more.

And now I want to play Rogue Squadron 3 for some reason... talk about a game leaving you wanting more.
"The enemy... they have a super-sized flying aircraft carrier carrying nukes and it is launching fighter jets at us!" bonkers stuff like that is fun and it will happen unless they changed the formula in later games. The latest game in the series I played was AC4 but it felt like Project Wingman had some of that old spirit in it but I didn't play much of that game.

I'd say it is worth it. You get a new selection of talkative squaddies and being on the Fed side the first mission is covering the retreat from the Snowball in mission 11 on the Merc side.
I would also say you can't really play it now. Frontline 59 was a PS exclusive for a year and they've added it into this massive patch for the anniversary edition and as such, mods don't work and I can't get pass mission 2. The first time I cleared mission 1 I got a fatal error and mission 2 won't advance the mission after I clear an objective. It's still pretty buggy.

Just finished up the DLC (decided to replay the whole game because it's been a while). Well worth the $5.

Man I forgot how good PW is. Makes me want to go emulate the PS2 trilogy again. My #1 issue with AC/ PW is....I always want more. I hate when I'm done with the game. I'd kill for random mission generators to just go blow stuff up.

Isn't that basically Conquest Mode, though?
