In every era, humanity has sought out figures who reflect its values, fears, contradictions, and aspirations. In ages past, these were kings and saints, generals and philosophers, mythologized in marble and epic. In those days of old, we had Perseus, Heracles, King Arthur.
Let us therefore have heroes appropriate to the age we live in. "Chris Chan, Bearer of the Medallion". "Nikocado Avocado, Weeper of the Feasts".
Chris Chan: Who else has created a world entire, populated it with hybrids of hedgehog and pokemon, declared themselves its sovereign, its steward, its messiah? Who has faced trolls like dragons, not with sword and steel, but with webcam and marker pen? Who has spoken to Sonic and heard him speak back? Who has looked upon the boundaries between fiction and reality - and chosen to erase them? What can we call such a man, other than as a living hero?
Chris the Merged. Let him be known. Let him be named. Let him sit among the Men of Deeds, first of his line.
