alright, speaking of privacy I currently have nord vpn. Should I just stop using it and pick another vpn?

I unironically picked Nord because ProtonVPN looked... off for some reason and gave me bad vibes.

Unless you are planning to be a criminal any VPN is fine. It will protect you from your run of the mill meta data harvesting. If the Feds want to get your Data directly it really does not matter WHAT you use. Any protection network can be compromised if they really want too.

Right now most big VPN services seems to be built around letting people region-hop things like Netflix and going by the ads it will also protect people from scammers stealing their CC numbers. I don't know how that one is supposed to work.

To me that doesn't sound like services intended to protect people from glowies and big brother. On the other hand, if you find a small VPN service run by hardcore true believers it just guarantees that the feds have their eyes on it.
