Psycho-Pass

So i keep hearing everything after the first season is bad but can someone detail why?

Six episodes in currently. So in this dystopia ('cause that's what it is, they're not really hiding it, I suppose), does the enforcers ever take in a suspect for questioning or do they just blow them up lmao.

Not really sure if I dig it, but I'm not bored so far. I have mixed feelings about the opening, I'm not a fan of the music, but the visuals stand out.

It gets better as it goes, but it also gets far edgier too, like mort Urobutcher stuff.

Didn't watch the 2nd one yet.

Halfway through the first season. So outside of like two of the characters possibly having a connection with the antagonist, how seriously are we supposed to treat the murders? They come off as more silly "look at how clever I am being" pretentiousness than out-right thrilling/frightening outcomes that have consequences. Se7en had better meaning behind its murders, and it's the one that started using psychotic metaphorical murders to tell a story.

I haven't seen everything of Urobuchi's, but what I have seen (Fate/Zero, Madoka Magica, the Godzilla films, Expelled from Paradise, Phantom The Animation OVA), I'm not a big fan of them, even though I appreciate what he's done for the industry. Currently at the halfway point, I just don't feel anything different.

Anno still used "Ode to Joy" to build suspense and enhance the atmosphere better.

what i don't like about urobutcher work is that he leaves things up to interpretation, which always gets annoying.

Been on my backlog since like forever.
Finally watched the first two seasons earlier this year.

While I do agree s1 is superior, s2 isn't anywhere as bad as people make it out to be. The plot was was weaker overall and the resolution wasn't very satisfying, but I did enjoy the character interactions and seeing Akane grow more of a backbone.

I'm okay with interpretive works, but he's really pretentious about it, which is what's annoying.

I didn't think it was any different from the first season just because one of the characters was missing (just to show up in the movie), but I'm not a fan of it to begin with. The movie made me realize that I fucking hate anime movies that don't do more to prove it's actually a film and not just a 90-minute special episode. The animation was not impressive in the slightest making it not distinguishable from the television series, it relied too heavily on you having seen the series to know what the hell's going on, and the characters don't learn a lesson in the end. And it's supposed to be a direct sequel, but they didn't grow.

I'm a completionist fuck, so I'm going to end up watching the other seasons/movies eventually, but I'm not in any rush to see them.
