Now I just remember watching the eyecancer-inducingly bad camrip of the Haruhi Suzumiya movie. I had no idea how high the production values were until I saw a proper copy, lol.
Fun fact, that is actually the movie I went to see in Japan! So fantastic.

I think I've seen one or two pre-movie announcements warning you not to record the movie. I think it went something like "You probably wouldn't steal a car, so why would you steal a movie?" But now it's all just "turn off your phones" (someone's always goes off, though...).

I guess paper and pencils are OK just because they were going to release the trailer anyways, and you can't record a movie with that stuff.

Yeah, I think I saw those too, but in my theatres, there are still that huge sign that is all seriously about not recording or else violators will be prosecuted and how its against the law and all the possible consequences like it can lead to X amount of years in prison if convicted and yadda yadda yadda.

Yeah, pencils and paper aren't technically recording/capture devices in the same vein as cellphones, camcorders, and cameras are.

Man, Yuki's so fucking cute lol, I'd love to actually see that in theaters. I probably ought to go see anime movies when they do the one night engagements around here, but I don't know if I can handle the weaboo though. But on the other hand their might be girls there...

I saw the Madoka movie in NYC last fall, and the crowd was surprisingly pretty chill. I think they probably got all their weeb sperging out of their systems either directly before or after the movie. I know one guy I went with - either the day before or the day after the movie, I can't remember - actually brought a Madoka figma into class and our professor was all like, "wtf? stop playing with your dolls and put that away."

Anyway.
