Yeah. Nah. That isn't stupidity. She knows something isn't right but Megan was a big part of Chris's history so he's especially sensitive on the subject. Anna knows pushing the issue too much could potentially damage her "friendship" with Chris for awhile. So Anna is playing dumb to avoid drama as Chris creates another debacle for himself. If there's a fallout then Anna will leave a nice facebook comment because that is apparently all a real friend has to do.

Eh, people overestimate the potential for drama with contradicting Chris. Chris is full of himself and would want to never be contradicted, but he's a huge pussy and wouldn't sacrifice a friend for any issue. And Anna isn't worried about contradicting Chris. She's definitely willing to contradict Chris if she feels it necessary. Hell, she's done it before.

Really, there are a bunch of explanations for Anna's asspatting behavior. And to me, none of them seem reasonable. Like, the only one left is that she genuinely believes the crazy shit Chris says. But c'mon, no one can be that stupid, right?

What if she feels guilty? The Crazy Pacer story basically killed any belief that Chris is just a normal guy pulling the most epic prank in Internet history. The TotCP did more damage to Chris's reputation than the Place photograph. It's not too far fetched to feel like maybe, just maybe, she's the one responsible for the trolling.
It's super crazy, but maybe the asspats are her way of making up for her blog entry on Chris all those years ago.

Well you're entitled to that perception, which almost certainly isn't hers. Mental illnesses can be very isolating for people who have them, so while I don't know what her disorder is, she's probably been judged pretty harshly for it if it was bad enough to land her in a psych hospital. As such, perhaps she sympathizes with people more ill than herself, espescially when they are not capable of getting much better (*coughChriscough*). Really, birds of a feather...

Hardly, The Crazy Pacer story came out after ROSECHU MASTURBATIN AND SQUIRTING and SheCameForCWC.jpg had already lit the fire. TOTCP did lend some credence to the idea that Chris wasn't pretending to be retarded but it's not overly critical of Chris and it didn't cause Chris trolling; that was already well underway by the time TOTCP was found.

A terrible friend to who? Really, she does seem to have friendships outside of her assosciation w\Chris, so at least some people think she's a good person. Moreover, we wouldn't be friends with her, but Chris seems to have no problems at all. Although it's understandable to say that a 'real' friend would point out your flaws to you, that's not what Chris wants, so anyone who did that wouldn't be a friend to him, regardless of how we feel about it. Overall, she seems to know her borders and his, and so doesn't do anything that he would perceive as irredeemably hurtful (like criticize him about his terrible habits he's incapable of changing). It's odd to us, but it's something she could easily understand, espescially when her own difficult-to-treat mood and behavior disorders are taken into account. Moreover, she's no sycophant, and has gotten on Chris about his various '-ism's in the past, so there's that.

I suspect that the reason she continually insists Chris is really sweet, kind, intelligent, and heroic is because she sees herself as similar to him in a way. Due to her own mental illness and/or general terribleness, people probably "overlook" the sweetness, heroism, etc she thinks she has, and so she's trying to act the "right" way toward Chris. To look at him the way she thinks the world should look at her, if that makes sense.
