Queer indie games deserve more recognition

he hugely popular visual novel in which your character ran their own arcade?
Where was Newfound Courage

Knife Sisters?

he same year that the episodic visual novel LongStory and critically acclaimed mecha narrative Extreme Meatpunks Forever released.

Notice the pattern? all those games are glorified visual novels (and porn) with a gay character plastered on it, Visual novels are the most lazy way to say "i made a video game" when in reality is the equivalent of a power point with music, aka not a game, troons can go and pound sand or make something that resemblances a video game

Reminder that you can complete Gone Home in 5 minutes.
Worse; you can beat it in less than one.

Also this is anecdotal but I haven't met or seen a single person who didn't like the Last of Us II because it's about gay characters. Last of Us II's got 99 problems but Ellie being gay ain't one except for the abysmal writing that came out of that "oppression".

Tell Me Why fucking sucked and part of it was because Taylor had zero traits other than "oh yeah I'm trans now deal". Gone Home sucked because A, it's overpriced as hell, B, the girl the story's about a DESERTER who stole her parents shit and C, it was BORING.

So you don't like "playersexuality" but you pitch bitch fits when characters aren't the sexuality you want them to be. I knew a gay guy who got all mad that Cullen from Inquisition wasn't gay. I know a bi guy that got frustrated because you couldn't date just anyone in Cyberpunk. These assholes want everything.

A Bisexual power mad sadist, that will stop at nothing to make the world bend to his will. Volgin like the perfect representation of these people and he never gets so much as a mention.

Probably because he leves little to the imagination when it comes to depravity. The sex sandwich tries to play up their bullshit as fun and playful with glitter. While Volgin has fun leaving permanent marks on Eva, and greeting Major Ivan Raidenovitch with a hefty crotch grab.

The fictional character plays closer to reality and they don't like it.

These people will never admit that they aren't the majority and just accept that the vast majority of people don't give a shit about their agenda driven game.
Your game isn't selling because it's infested with virtue signaling and politics, not because it didn't get enough exposure.
Make your fag game for your little fag community and be happy, don't be mad because people outside your target demographic don't want it.
Cool story, faggot. How many copies did you sell?
Precisely this. Let's take a note of some of the biggest indie successes in gaming: Cave Story, Shovel Knight, A Hat in Time, Bloodstained, Fall Guys, Among Us, Touhou, Shantae, etc. Y'know what's the one thing they all have in common? Their developers' primary focus was making the game fun to play, not to shove woke politics and virtue signaling down your throat. And it shows in each and every one of them, regardless of genre. That's why they're successful. Make something like those games, LGBT+ community, and maybe, just maybe, they'll actually sit down and listen. But who am I kidding? That takes effort and dedication, things they have a distinct lack of in each and every one of their products.

No one but fag hags and gays like gay romances, and even the gays aren't that interested unless it's a Grindr hookup sim.
Well, that and most gay options in games are written by and solely for the titillations of 30+ year old women who read/write slashfiction. Most of the gay options I can think of are twinky, snarky little shits that probably fart glitter. A lot of the gay men I know of play women in games because they are the only ones that get the chance to fuck a real man.

I knew a gay guy who got all mad that Cullen from Inquisition wasn't gay. I know a bi guy that got frustrated because you couldn't date just anyone in Cyberpunk. These assholes want everything.
I kind of wonder how much of that plays into my last statement but let's get to the heart of the matter:

Trying to design a game experience around player sexuality is retarded and doomed to fail. Why? Because you're never going to be able to hit the mark for everyone who might play your game which then produces articles like this one that bitch at you for not finding that perfect "uWu trans-demi boy" that particular player wanted. Even if you are willing to let your players build whatever their romance option will be after they create their perfect self-insert, it's still probably going to fail because you then have to write the dialogue for them. It's just putting yourself in an impossible situation.

Besides, how many of these games that supposedly have multiple romance options have all of them feeling equal? The answer is probably none. Most of the time, you get one or maybe two good, fully realized romance options and the rest are some variation of "you're into the stuff I'm into, guess we should fuck" or "we fucked now we're basically married". In a lot of the games with multiple potential romance branches, you can tell which ones are the creator's "preferred" options as they are the ones that are either a) available the most, b) start the fastest, or c) have the most dialogue or twists in their story. I'd rather have more developers go back to doing one or two romance options with their own full stories that play a meaningful role in the story over this idea of having sixteen different fuckmates who you get one or two cutscenes with over the course of a 40 hour game.

Also, the best openly gay character in a video game continues to be Gay Tony from the GTA IV games.
He can use a gun, don't bitching around in many TBoGT missions, and is a pretty likeable character.
Yeah, you're right, that's how you can write gay characters in AAA games, not unlike Mass Effect Andromeda for example...

Funnily enough, the gay guy in Mass Effect 3 (Steve the Shuttle pilot) was another really well written gay character. He also didn't get pissy if you told him you didn't go that way.

I see what you're doing with this. This article is a gayop to revive @Jaimas to play this terrible game. I agree. Look at the game that the article writer made. Holy FUCK it's like it's right out of the days of the Autism Crusades.

All those default RPG Maker assets....

I don't qualify that as "making a video game". It's just like making an "OC DONUT STEEL" by recoloring Sonic.

Also anything custom in this ''game'' is amateur at best.
This is what happen when those type concentrate on LGTBQ+ representation more on game quality itself
You got crappy game who only marketing ploy is it ''queer'' then they wonder why their game don't get far...

BTW: RPG maker isn't that bad for amateur who want to learn game
