I'm new, and pretty new to the Chris Chan saga. Ever since finding his page on ED a few weeks ago, then finding this Wiki. I haven't been able to stop reading.

My question is, why hasn't Chris or someone else for that matter tried tried to monetize this with a TV show, web show, or a book?(besides Viv's, I'm talking more mainstream). Or has this already been attempted? I read some of Vivians emails to Chris were she suggests a Youtube web show, and he completely ignores it.

I realize some of Chris' funniest moments are "M" rated. But still, I dont see how this hasn't happened. Is it because Chris doesn't realize the potential or doesn't want to? Or because he views his e-fame as a negative thing and therefore just wants it over? With him signing autographs for money, it seems like he's now ok with cashing in on the celebrity the trolling has brought him.

It would solve his money problems. For the people that have been here longer, is this something that Chris has dismissed as something he would never do?

I'm not sure how many of you have read "Confederacy of Dunces." but Chris is quite possibly the closest we are going to get to the real life Ignatius. If you sub autism in for Ignatius' quirky genius anyway.

I have pondered the thought of Chris belonging to a "whack pack" similar to the Howard Stern show's cast of interesting characters. He is weird enough to be entertaining but he needs a handler, and those shock jock shows tend to humiliate their weirdos.

TL;DR: Chris is too boring and uncooperative, he'd need someone to hold his hand through a real show.

He's uncooperative, but thats part of why he is funny.

My god, think about a CWC version of the Bachelor. Chris would need no convincing to join that project, and when Chris interacts with women it's always gold. Besides sometimes being creepy.

Chris is not cashing in on the celebrity that online trolling has brought him, he's cashing in on the fame that his comic Sonichu has brought him, from fans not trolls.

This, he lacks the self awareness and sense of irony to cash on his internet "fame". Even though some of his views did get broken, he still believes Sonichu had real fans and that it was a good idea.

I think the major reason is that neither Chris nor his mother wants it. Any mainstream effort would require cooperation.

Also, if you were producing a mainstream effort on Chris, what angle would you take? I think if you took any angle but "Chris is almost entirely a victim" you would offend enough people to impact your brand. But he is not a sympathetic victim.

Chris is not Ignatius. Ignatius was at least likable as a character.

Generally that would have been a good idea but there's three reasons why that won't happen with Chris:

1. He doesn't like being portrayed in anything that makes him look less than perfect.
2. Usually, a successful web series requires some amount of editing and effort.
3. Most likely never dawned on him nor will it because he does not see the humor he has brought to the net at his expense.

I think the closest Chris ever got to getting TV fame was when somebody tried to sign up Barb for the show Hoarders. Unfortunately, I don't know who tried to sign her up or when, or why she didn't get on the show.

I'm so sad that the Chandler household never got on Hoarders. People who go on it rage hard enough already, can you imagine how Chris' reaction to them wanting to throw some of his "art" out would be?

They were going to be on the show, but a gang of black trannies rolled the show's producer up in a rug and threw him off a bridge.

True story.
