He's either incredibly unlucky or does some extreme stuff on it. The laptop may have been overpriced, but in my experience Asus doesn't make shit that falls apart. Technically he should still have warranty

It's a best buy exclusive model, meaning he has to take it to geek squad. And because of covid there's a 2-3 month time on all repairs. Yes he should've gotten a desktop instead but quinton isn't a smart person.

Asus is one of the few laptop manufacturers that seem to have their act together. If he said Acer I might side with him, but Asus is leagues above competitors like Alienware. I think Quinton has fits and smashes his laptop when he gets mad at stuff or something. Either that or he makes no attempt to avoid shady websites. Not even sure how you'd end up bricking a decent laptop even with that, this quickly, though. Was it already old when he got it?

You can get a damn solid prebuilt desktop for like 1.8K(after tax) with a payment plan and it'll run circles with some of the best GPU's on the market past the new nvidia monster gpus. Hell even if you want somehting that's get one built from even one of your cronies and it'll be around 1K and do everything fine too.

I just think Quinton is just tech illiterate in the worst way. Unlike boomers who don't understand and fear technology because they didn't grow up with it, Quinton is a smug millennial who grew up with tech and believes he is all knowledgeable about it but never truly bothered to learn or understood it.

Boomers at least know they can't work technology and avoid it to escape the various pitfalls. Quinton is so stupid that he dunning-kruger's himself and actively falls into those pitfalls thinking he knows what he is doing.

This is my running theory though as I run my rigs much harder but still manage to get at a minimum 3 years out of them. I don't really know how Quinton is fucking this shit up so consistently otherwise.

Isn't Q a full-time youtuber without other revenue streams? You would suppose people who have to rely on some "home self-employment" for their livelihood would get some knowledge on how to deal with emergency situations as they don't have the IT team to have their back?

If he spent the time it took him to whine about it on googling the issue, most likely he would be able to recover files and then get it up and running again in a matter of hours.
