Isn't a reversed doorknob the sort of thing CPS would tell a mom to fix, and they'll be back in a couple days to check? Hardly arrest worthy on it's own.
 
Yeah I'm not so sure it was a lock/doorknob kind of situation from when he was arrested. I think something was disclosed during forensic interviews w/ the kids Thursday. Hence the charges coming Friday, not Thursday as they would have if something happened Wednesday night.

The charges being second degree mean both parents knowingly contributed to the false imprisonment and endangering. If it were first degree there would be injury from restraint, third degree would be from neglect. So whatever it is the state thinks it was intentional on the part of both parents. Which makes it very, very unlikely the kids are home.

The power tripping by the mods on the snark sub is insane. Nugget is a total moron. They allow zero sympathetic or even slightly nuanced takes about the women and girls trapped in the cult unless it comes out they've been molested or abused. The actual snarkers are just as bad. You can tell they wanted another kid in this cult to be molested to give their boring lives some excitement, but when you call them on that they pull the ole 'I just cope with dark humor' card.

There's plenty to snark on about Meech in those videos even though the guy filming is obviously an idiot. His "reporting" is the only reason we know it was Meech who bailed Kendra out from the clink (that post is still up in the sub btw). Screeching that she's protecting children which is rich coming from someone that couldn't protect her own daughters from her fucked up son growing up, and now it comes out she couldn't protect kids from predator son 2.0. Her dropping her usual keep sweet attitude and looking downright manic throughout that encounter.

I agree with calling Michelle and Kendra evil, but acting like they have just as much blame as their pedo son/husband requires a level of mental gymnastics that's only explainable if you straight up hate women. Back when Josh did the same thing, they were all defending Anna and it actually made me mad, but now they've completely flipped into blaming the women for the men's actions. It's like they expected her to turn on him at some point, and when she (predictably) never did, it broke their brains.

Edit: Requiring hard proof of abuse before you'll allow any nuanced discussion is also dumb as fuck. The idea that (almost) all of these women grew up in a misogynistic child abuse cult, and the ones who miraculously escaped being abused in any form just so happen to be the ones you dislike, is reaching levels of cope previously thought impossible.

Yeah. I'm not putting all the blame on Meech for her sons turning out to be predators, just from a snark standpoint her saying she's protecting kids in that instance is eye roll worthy.

I'll always have more smoke for Meech and JB because they got to have relatively normal lives before they joined the cult and then totally deprived their kids of normalcy while raising them in a sheltered, dysfunctional environment that created and exposed them to predators. Unfortunately the snark sub doesn't allow any non-black and white opinions like taking into account that these people weren't allowed to develop the same curiosity about the world or critical thinking abilities as the rest of us. They'll rightfully point out how blanket training and extreme purity culture is bad while snarking on the very people displaying the direct consequences of it. It's like they forget were talking about people born and raised in a fundie cult, not just your run of the mill conservative Christians!

It takes former cult members years of deprogramming in multiple stages to even come to terms with the fact that what they experienced wasn't normal. They expect these women to deprogram themselves without professional help while still in the cult, renounce everything they've known their entire lives, and start acting like they were raised on CNN and the Washington Post. Because they have internet access or some stupid shit like that. Ex Baptists who became atheists in college are on there comparing their experiences to IBLP members. They're retarded.

And the girls like Jill Duggar, she's angry about what happened to her and her sisters, but still loves her parents, and wants their love in return. It's heartbreaking to me, yet Rim-Job still treats her like a second-class citizen, and Meech goes along with him, because God.

It's not just the lack of knowledge and awareness, it's also the mind-numbing fear. The people who wrote the articles about religious mind control tactics are agents of Satan. You have to be constantly vigilant in case a forbidden thought slips in, because Satan is constantly on the prowl for your soul, and he'll use any moment of doubt to deliver the killing blow. The fear of spiritual death is worse than the fear of physical death, to the point where being killed for remaining faithful is preferable to questioning the doctrine. The adrenaline you feel when reading something that makes you question your faith is similar to being in a life or death situation.

The men are raised to believe that they're ordained as spiritual leaders, so they're practiced in coming up with creative interpretations of scripture to justify their actions. For the women, they're taught not only that questioning scripture is evil, but that questioning your husband, father, or church leaders is tantamount to blasphemy. They're transferred from one man's spiritual custody to another's through marriage, which means they always have an earthly authority as well as a heavenly one. The men, at some point, become answerable only to God for their actions. The women only have their children under them, and sometimes that little bit of power goes to their heads, which is why some of them become petty tyrants.

Honestly how are kids raised in this environment even supposed to know that they're in a cult? I know it's been said but the girls especially - their home lives are already bad but then they're told that the nonbelievers have it even worse. I imagine that a lot of the time it turns into "the devil you know" kind of situations.
 
Even the family that Tim Rodrigues married into, the Coverettes, aren't exempt.
Tim and his wife Heidi have put up some boundaries, but are still respectful of his parents.
Heidi has a sister who seems to have fairly normal beliefs, drinks alcohol, wears pants, is still loved and accepted by her family, and so on isn't good enough for the snarkers. Not every religious person wants to exterminate the gay and trans people, but there are a few posters that say they won't rest until every fundie is wiped off of the face of the earth.
Fuck, bitch. That makes you no better than who you claim they are.
