My boss (a seasoned manual machinist) has been nursing a sciatic nerve issue for a week likely stemming from him having to cover in the machine shop due to manning issues. Lots of stooping, standing, and awkward, heavy lifting when fixturing a lathe or end mill.
I'm the inspector and I get nasty spasms by the end of the work day from standing, stooping, and operating the manual CMM all day. Even a job as low effort as looking at/measuring something can put a hurt on you if you're not careful or trying to go fast to meet deadlines. Still, I'd rather do this than try to find some office job that I'd hate which would offer less pay. The trades pay well and are worth the risk of a broken body.

It'd be more accurate to call the goal "Anti-Job" instead of "Anti-work". The idea is that all the bitch-work is farmed out to illegal immigrants robots and automation. People still work, but that work is important and fulfilling. Robots stock shelves, but humans still design the labels. Because of this, no one is forced into these make-work sort of jobs flipping burgers or waiting tables. The untalented and undriven are sort of warehoused and given just enough bread and circuses to keep them docile.

Because all the work being done is high-level work that can't just be farmed out to some street-shitter in India, labor has incredible power with employers. This makes it nigh-impossible for corporations to mistreat people or view them as replaceable cogs.

But again, the real goal isn't to do away with work, it is to remove being forced to work. The idea is that with UBI paying rent on your bugman 1-room flat and letting you grubhub Wendy's 3 times a day, you can also use your free time to find a "side hustle" to improve your living situation. As in currently famous Tranny Faggot walking dogs.
Sort of how you have the idle rich who just sort of fuck around doing whatever and sometimes stumble into something productive, they want to create the idle poor.

I don't feel the need to go into an exhaustive counter argument of why this is completely unworkable since I think the whys are readily apparent.
(Or how you need a bunch of low-level bitch work jobs so people develop proper work habits when they do get a real job. But sort of how Communistfags just expect everyone to do maximum work for the state because "According to ability!", this ignores that you can drive through the projects and see a bunch of people already willing to marginally subsist on handouts. OR that some jobs are needed for society to function, are unpleasant, and can't be automated away.)
But hopefully this helps you understand the logic they are trying to use to justify their position.

Do always remember that's not their actual position. The real position is their allowance should be 10x what it is, but they shouldn't have to do chores to earn it.

The description for their page, before the "brigade", was the following.

"A subreddit for those who want to end work, are curious about ending work, want to get the most out of a work-free life, want more information on anti-work ideas and want personal help with their own jobs/work-related struggles."

Clearly they want to end work (at least they explicitly say so), they want to live without working, and they are against the idea of work. They're just lazy and profited off covid forcing a lot of people out of their fields or into more miserable work, and then people unknowingly let a bunch of lazy tranny reddit mods represent their actual struggles. It's exactly what the name is, but once again the left has to rewrite the name into something less gay sounding.
