r/antiwork - Yes, it's exactly what it sounds like.

How will society function without jobs?

Wait until he figures out that soulless corporation that pushes him until he collapses, repeatedly cuts his benefits, and would fire him in an instant the second he drops below 150% productivity probably loves troons, funds pride shit, and probably has a majority Jewish board of directors and shareholders that hate the working class and white people.

It would horrify your average reddit fag to see just how close they are to agreeing with people who post here or on 4chan.
A few friends of mine once crashed an ANTIFA cafe open mic night by just reciting points hitler made in mein kampf or his speeches (to loud applause ofc) and they were asked if they could come back next week. Sometimes; people just need to be open for other's ideas and they'll find they have a lot in common.

Most of the worker's rights and anti-banker speeches he made are completely forbidden to post on social media, with the Siemen's speech being the hardest to come by (and probably one of the ones that would resonate most with the Left today). The only subtitled copy available on YouTube is in Japanese.

My brother is an electrician's apprentice, and IBEW definitely likes to treat their workers as pawns. The Union tries to squeeze money out of the projects they work on, and have taken to some ridiculous policies to get every last drop (can't even bring his own water because the union demands the projects provide the workers with bottled water). And of course, the IBEW follows the marching orders of AFL-CIO and tried to make its workers Vote Blue no Matter Who, so I honestly can't tell if the few benefits are worth it, especially considering he's going to be basically shackled to them in order to get licensed and then pay off the education costs.
Not all locals are the same. Some of them just leave you alone as long as you pay your dues. I don’t like it, I really don’t. But the way I see it I’m paying into two separate 401ks and an annuity, and when I get the “HEY GUYS HERES WHO YOU SHOULD VOTE FOR THIS YEAR” letter in the mail, it goes right in the trash.

I can genuinely say that 90% of the other people in my local feel the same way. All of us have the “we just pay dues to pay into the retirement plans” and “it sucks but we get paid more” outlook, from the greenhorns all the way up to the old-timers. You can get paid a minimum of $24/hr signing onto the books down the hall or you can get paid a whole $15/hr working non-union, and that’s as a fully licensed journeyman electrician. Non-union foremen get a little more, like $16-18/hr.

Let me know when r/antiwork finally casts out the right-wing capitalists and gets to this level of praxis:

Somewhat unusually for a Marxist Youtuber take, the replies to it are mostly quite sensible (though the initial comment was hardly on-brand for Xidnaf, who mostly does videos about linguistics). Still, it seems I might have misjudged his linguistics nerd audience.

Although, saying that, it might just be a sign of how much commie propaganda Xid has deepthroated in the last 2 years that even his audience are calling him out on shit.

I was more thinking of how many anti-workers rely on DoorDash or whatever for their tendies but that's a good angle too.
There's a lot you can do to make fun of them by interpreting their demands in the most offensive context to them. Upset with bankers? Yes, those Jews really do have too much power Comrade. Restaurants not allowed? Of course! Women should be at home providing for the Ideal Socialist Worker and raising their revolutionary children.

This is not a new thought, and it already exists almost everywhere in the US. Have you ever wondered why most campuses have a "student union building" where the cafeteria or meeting rooms are, and why activity funding is overseen by student representatives? Because they really are part of a school-sponsored union. Just like almost every other union it's an ineffective organization run by champagne socialists looking to pad their resume and buy D votes from students.

A few research universities even have a legitimate trade union for grad students and lab technicians to ensure they're treated properly.

The replies to the second tweet already have mentioned this. Xid either had a brain-fart and forgot that student unions exist, or he agrees with Erato and Trixen that they're nowhere near powerful enough.

The big mistake they make is not realizing nobody in government listens to other unions either. American unions are the opposite of how they're supposed to be. Instead of lobbying the government on behalf of workers, they lobby workers on behalf of Democrats. The dysfunction of student unions, especially their management by clout chasing students, is a microcosm of the same way real ones are held captive by useless managers and political stooges.

What a retard take. A student pays an educational institution to gain access to their classes so that the institution can verify the student's knowledge at a certain subject. It's literally a capitalist transaction that students sign up and pay for. If the work is too hard the student could change majors or transfer to a less intensive college. The only case I could see this making some sense is unionizing to ensure that grad students receive equal living stipends no matter what field they are studying. Even if one thinks that the field of computer science is more beneficial to society than the field of Asian History (I certainly do), it's not up to institutions to decide that certain students deserve a larger living stipend because of their chosen research. A place dedicated to learning should value it's scholars equally.

For grad student unions (which do actually work well) it's about making sure students are credited on papers and get paid what they're owed for labor as a TA and RA. Whereas undergrads don't do any meaningful work, grad students basically do 90% of all work that's done at a university. There's a pretty big problem, especially in the softer disciplines, where people will just have 10 RAs writing and editing all their work while they take the credit.

You might find a certain kind of irony in the fact that the people most likely to abuse their employees are Communist college professors.

Honestly, if that workplace was real, they are being nice by simply extending the shifts of tardy employees rather than firing them on the spot. I'd always been taught to be at least 15 minutes early to work, even when I was working retail. The idea of heading to work late and getting mad that you are expected to pick up extra time to compensate just feels wrong to me.
