r/polyamory

The ones I know IRL all seemed to have married quite young, often LDRs with other nerds. Some of them had kids. The relationships weren't built on much beyond infatuation and shared nerd interests and ran their course after a few years, but they don't want to split up and not have the family support structure and convenient childcare. So, polyfuckery occurs. Great for everyone except the children.
LDRs?

There is nothing wrong with polyamory in theory. It will, however, in practice, fail 9/10. This is not because polyamory itself is wrong or degenerate, but because it requires an INSANE amount of confidence and maturity.

I may be mistaken, so take this with a grain of salt, but a good amount of people don't have the confidence, that is to say that they are not insecure, for monogamy, let alone relationships that involve more than one person.

I may again be mistaken, but I believe that most polyamorous relationships happen with teenagers and very young adults, people who often do not have the self-esteem and maturity to generate long-lasting monogamous relationships, let alone anything else, and then you have all those husbands and wives who are in bad place in their marriage, be it because they have fallen out of love and cannot get themselves to end it all and admit that it was a "waste" of their time or because it should never have gone that far in the first place, people who are most certainly not in the best mental shape when comes to matters of intricate intimate interpersonal relationships.

That is not to say that there aren't huge cunts who just want to get away with cheating, that is certainly true, but then again, those people would likely be giant assholes in any kind of relationship anyway. It is not the polyamory that makes them bad, they are just cunts anyway.

Man that comic makes the main character look delusional. I don't mean because of anything do with poly or kiwi farms' general position on the subject, just the storytelling is so crap that the intended message gets corrupted. Ignoring normal looking people trying to reach you while everything is pink, sparkles, flowers, princess dresses and she is repeating the same sentence. Yeah that makes her look like she trying to ingnore reality rather than just being happy despite others not approving. Ending the comic on a smug thought stopping clishe isn't helping.

Tbh shw generally has a very preachy tone that does get on my nerves and tbh i can't wait for the inevitable break up soon enough.

I might post more examples if y'all want to.
Edit here's the examples i might double post if any are missing nggg.

What is it with ugly purple/pink color schemes in dumb web comics? Are they color coding stupidity by law?
Oh god all her comics and art are like that. It makes looking through her art a boring blendy chore.

She also had a comic where she set a couple that had a genuine relantioship issue ( " Maria" had a crush on someone other then her bf "Alejandro") into a latin soap opera ending the comic with the mc saying that she had a crush and acting in a total poly way by supporting in asking for a date.
( here's the link if you don't believe it https://www.instagram.com/p/CDudNOspdM0/?igshid=ukltvdpvo09i )
Maan what a cunt.
Also there gf is nonbinary cuz ofc she is.

Kind of ironic of poly fucks to compare a hetero relationship to a latin soap.

It's not just her, unless she's also the cartoonist behind that stupid Oh Joy Sex Toy. You know, the one with the condescending comic explaining what a cuck is, as if we didn't think well of it because we didn't know what it meant. Here's a hint, people: We think poorly of it because we do know what it means.

I think I wrote about this in another thread or this one but it's this juvenile attempt to visually sugar-coat something most people inherently know is deviant. Thus you end up with CalArts-tier stephen universe/scott pilgrim rejects in saccharine colour tones trying to convince mostly themselves that looking inwards and examining what it is about you society is so repulsed by should be ignored in favour of looking at the cartoon characters the schlubby loser your husband is banging permanently etched on her skin.

I've seen poly work in my extended social circle, but only in closed systems where essentially everyone has a relationship, or you have a man with two wives.

Like so many other things, the folks who seem to be successful don't make it their entire identity.

This is the type of comic were you just know the artist is like 500 pounds irl.

Hey I think you're on to something.
Here's my shitty photoshop attempt, but if art-Kiwis want to take a wack at a redraw I think your point would be even more obvious.

Similar effect is achieved if you swap in the actual artist for their self-inserts:

Given how she's Mexican and might or might still live in Said country, there's a chance she went along being Poly to be in a 3 way UWU lesbian relantionship ( The NB purple hair is clearly a girl and is named Mei/ Meiko and then there's the 3rd piece Mary. And no i don't believe for a second Mei might have been born a guy)

If she is in Mexico still, i kinda feel bad for her- it can't be easy getting on with girls as a girl if you happen to have a preference for it.

Edit: i realise that This could be names to keep their identities hidden so if shes in mexico still, they might have more " fitting " names.

Theres plenty of lesbians in Mexico, it must not be that complicated. My bet would be she is simply too much of a shut in and lives vicariously through the internet because that way she wouldn't be all that different from first world people who accept these kinds of arrangements and elaborate larps, poly is ripe with nerds with social and self esteem issues.

Just saying LGBT are known For taking table scraps even if they might not be in the healthiest situation partially because the dating scene can be difficult to navigate if you take in country/ specific area. It's not that there aren't any lesbians/ Bis in her area, it's that there might not be all that many that are single and willing to date her arguably pretty cunty ass, openly.

I wonder if the internet has overblown how many actually out LGBT are in RL that aren't Larping for Woke points or closeted in RL for personal reasons.
Not to power level, but in rl I've only seen two bi girls at my old school, one taken lesbian and no one openly Homosexual or a guy that swings both ways ( I can't say if anyone was secretly gay or in the closet as a lot of gays can be including myself technically).

Definitely. The internet has a tendency of making minority groups seem majority if they are vocal enough online. Same goes for other types of spergs that acumulate tons of activity on social media.

I don't think any of the irl lgbt people i've met truly fit any of the woke sjw from tumblr or reddit stereotypes, but i've met straight people who do. Gay people are already like 3% of the population, i mean, its still a lot of people but its a proportionally small number, woke gay people who buy into all the kool aid and agenda are an even smaller number and i am pretty sure by my own experience that most lgbt wont even go out of their way to go to pride marches and stuff like that. Compared to online where 2/3rds seem to have some pronoun in their bio and some political manifesto based on their sexuality.

These poly identitarians are actually super rare to see, either in straight or gay groups, they frolic online and are enough to build a community but very few people actually live like that or see it as a normal type of relationship. Even with all the people joining the bandwagon for clout and woke points online the actual irl number is marginal, but then agian, i don't live in a cultural epicenter so maybe in a very liberal american city is diferent. Even then it would be isolated in that type of cultural mileau, like San Francisco's most cosmopolitan districts or something like that.
