Plagued /r/TNOmod and the Reddit HOI4 modding community - When a subreddit for a video game mod turns to utter insanity

Ironically, the soundtrack is emblematic of TNO itself: one original idea (Burgundian Lullaby/Nazi victory scenario) followed by bloat and nonsense (Midi vomit/commiewank no one cares about).
Exactly my thoughts. It's also nearly 2 hours of music. I have no clue what all this variety actually achieves for the mod, especially when these styles clash and blend so badly. Rhythm is all over the place even within tracks. Some of these digital instruments sound crude and their injection into the track unpolished. I legitimately cannot play this shit without disabling this amateur crap.

There's a lot of clashing styles here, like how is the Second Smuta (45:09) meant to sit next to something like Starward Gaze (1:54:37)?
In general, the Wilzy tracks are the worst offender of hyperactive MIDI epileptic composing. They have no substance and tell me nothing about the contour of the narrative. East vs. West had many generic pieces, as the game was simply the Cold War setting and all they did was sprinkle some typical geographic aesthetics here and there, but at least you felt that was right for a game of high-stakes calculating politics in a technological age.

Seriously, Moja, just listen to Filling Graves (the bit that starts at 01:32:30 or so). I dare you try and listen through it.
 
EaW is decently fun but the best part by far is that its really well optimised, you can all the fun and interesting mechanics or storylines you want but if the game is chugging along at a snails pace its just not fun and thats where EaW shines. Being able to bash out a run in an afternoon is way better than a multi-day affair with the likes of KR.

If you delete like half the fucking map that tends to happen. Zebrica is going to eventually fuck the mod performance-wise, but it'll be worth it. Actual content, instead of empty SA and Africa like vanilla.

The development team for 2WRW/Brave New World (a submod for the Russian warlords in TNO) is currently in anarchy YET AGAIN. The former lead dev Solstron apparently troonscends the average TNO developer in both laziness and incompetence. An update for the mod was supposed to come out by the end of November but Solstron had coded ONLY the TEASERS for the mod and no actual progress had been made on the mod itself nor were any other members of the dev team notified about this until he had already quit the team.
Apparently the devs are going to be cutting alot of shit to rush the mod out faster, and even then the release date for the update is currently unknown.

The former lead dev Solstron apparently troonscends the average TNO developer in both laziness and incompetence. An update for the mod was supposed to come out by the end of November but Solstron had coded ONLY the TEASERS for the mod and no actual progress had been made on the mod itself nor were any other members of the dev team notified about this until he had already quit the team.
Apparently the devs are going to be cutting alot of shit to rush the mod out faster, and even then the release date for the update is currently unknown.

Separate shit. The devs that stayed regrouped and are apparently still working on it but hoi4 devs are hoi4 devs and I wouldn't be shocked if it never came out.

Amazingly, this manages to be worse than the original TNO OST

Daily reminder that most of the TNO OST prior was various versions of "SS Marschiert in Feindesland" or literally out right plagarism.

The original "Slave Revolt" song in TNO, admittingly one of the better ones, is actually a direct instrumental plagarization of "Deutschland" by Rammstein to the point its a cover.

I believe it was made by Ayden George, who - from a simple google search, proves all he does is covers of various songs. The fact its not labled as "Deutschland (cover)" and something else entirely, is somewhat dubious.

Does this mean they have removed most of the other tracks? If so, this new OST is actually rather terrible. In fact, the only mod with a worse soundtrack is perhaps Modern Day, which is infinitely midi-doo doo feces.

How did they only just notice that the bare minimum was being done? Either there is a comical lack of co-operation going on with the other coders or Solstron was the only coder at which point it might as well be over for the mod.

So they just rip off Tubular Bells but add a bunch of noise to the middle of it? Yeah this is pretty bad, I'd rather take some ill fitting chiptune than this.

In the YT recommendations for the TNO soundtrack there's an album from the band New Order. Honestly copyright be damned that should be the soundtrack for TNO it would be much more enjoyable and thematically consistent.

Do you have a link for it? If its real then my bet is on them not wanting what can be considered the nicest unifier to live under being a Christcuck and not wholesome socialism.

nobody cares about that anymore since 90% of charting pop songs are 1 to 1 covers from other pop songs.

Much like how 90% of the Steam Workshop for autistic map-games like HOI4 is making existing mods better or worse. A lot of the same thing, yet increasingly more unstable as Paradox continually fucks up their game and exceptional individuals sully its reputation further with obnoxious mods that turn the game into esoteric, national-socialist-husbando virtual novels.

Devs didn't just remove his unification, Men's entire focus tree has been deleted from the mod files. They removed Vasilevskiy's content too (the 0 people who care about him have commited suicide).
They removed Men primarily because his late spawning into the game messed with the reworked regional-unification shit for Russia (unification wars are done with decisions instead of focuses now and have civilian/war exhaustion shit) and nobody on the TNO dev team is competent to work Men into the new mechanics system.
Vasilevskiy was deleted probably for the same reason as Men and because the Mongolian uprising at the start of the game was removed so now Mengkukuo starts with all of Mongolia and without that Vasilevskiy was just generic Soviet unifier #6,000,000.
