The mod does show some signs of legitimate development (actually modelling the US Senate in HOI4 is a first), but is also deeply flawed with nonsense like Germany draining the Mediterranean and automatically exploding into a compulsory fully conventional civil war when Hitler dies (apparently the army divisions just know to line up down arbitrary borders in the middle of Germany when law and order breaks down?). The looney troons and communists turned it from a flawed mod to a failed one.

Germany was moving to a very centralised planned economy during the war so would be fairly stagnant for lack of enterprise by the 1970s, along with massive military overextension trying to control the eastern conquests if they even still had them by then. I would definitely expect Nazi Germany to be poorer than real life West Germany of the time, which had got masses of Marshall Plan aid and boomed under Adenauer. The developers just decided to throw all plausibility out of the window.

I also get the impression that they don't want to represent national socialism stagnating because of excessive restrictions on private industry because that would undermine communism by extension.

that was a legit plan that was deemed to pacifistic. the problem with it is that Germany would have never used it. Its maybe a good idea in a scenario where Italy did something useful.

Well Africa would have been mostly german with some parts going to italy. the amount of germans in Africa would be very very low.
A giant landmass with good resources and massive amounts of free labor is just to good to not go there.
