Bring The War Home has dropped a small new teaser right before the end of January. Namely, they've reworked ideologies for the 3rd time:
This was the oldest ideology set, originally posted to r/BTWHmod in December of 2019.
Sometime in 2020-2021, 'Fascist' was changed to Fundamentalist and Libertarian Socialism got pushed to be the furthest-left ideology.
Long story short, I think these guys have manifested the purest vision of the American ideological spectrum as seen through glasses made of soy & Internet communism, combined with a complete and malicious misunderstanding of anyone to the right of Hubert Humphrey. Anarchists are worse than Stalinists/Maoists because they want to kill their enemies rather than brainwash them, Lyndon LaRouche and Elijah Muhammad share an ideological group, Liberals are the real Moderates (so I guess there's no such thing as a 'moderate conservative' to them), and the normie Conservatives are put on the same level as military dictators (the old Militarist ideology having been split between Conservative & Traditionalist, with the juntas falling in one category or the other depending on how racist they are) because to quote one of the devs directly, "Basically, wanting to keep or return America to a white and Christian supremacist republic dominated by a wealthy elite isn't radically changing what America is. That's what it's historically been and to a certain extent has always been."
Also, Reactionary doesn't actually mean 'reactionary' to the devs (even though its dictionary definition pretty much comes down to 'wanting to go back to how things were') but rather 'all the crazy evil genocidal nazis' with the objective of 'destroying the existing system and build a new one', which is why the Dixiecrats & KKK are classified as Traditionalist while CSAL, neo-Nazis and the like are now Reactionary in BTWH. Previously they would've been Fascist/Fundamentalist and the Dixiecrats/KKK were the Reactionaries, which made more sense.
That guy who got linked, btw? One look at his Wiki article tells me he's the first black guy to make the rank of four-star general in the US Armed Forces, despite having been born to poverty & being homeschooled by his mom in Florida, c. 1920 (the 'nadir of race relations'). He was fighter ace Robin Olds' second-in-command and helped the latter out during Operation Bolo, the biggest massacre of MiGs by the USAF during the Vietnam War. No doubt this man could've snapped both Fred Hampton & Huey Newton like twigs in a fight despite being twice their age & having heart problems which would eventually kill him before he turned 60.
Still some Internet commies dare call him a 'janissary' (that is, a brainwashed slave-soldier!) for the temerity of being a patriot, and presumably also because outright calling him a 'house nigger' would still get you banned from the BTWH server (they must still keep up appearances for other lefties, after all). Chalk this up to another case of the woke left really being no less racist than the KKK, just at least 50 times more condescending about it.

I'm really not surprised that this HOI4 mod (along with many others) are communist circle jerks. Considering that even jannies for submods will ban users for calling out bullshit nerfs in mainline Kaiserreich. (Nerfing the Entente while buffing the Internationale). Why do you think I personally stopped playing HOI4? The player base and the modders are fucking insufferable.

The placement of Moderate being further to the right than Anocracy strikes me as especially weird, even by the standards of the rest of this ideological spectrum. By their own admission Anocracy is to BTWH what Despotism is to TNO, and will include figures as 'diverse' as Lyndon LaRouche and authoritarian black supremacists. These guys want me to think that the poster boys for chill and inoffensive middle-of-the-century liberalism like George Romney, Nelson Rockefeller and the Kennedys are more extreme than LaRouche's personality cult, whatever's left of the Technocracy movement (basically nerd fascism), the Nation of Islam or a UN invasion force*? To that I can only say, get real.
* Apparently this is a thing that can actually happen, per one of the chatlogs they mention the UN intervention will fall under Anocracy, and on other occasions they've mentioned the UN will probably try to prop up the likes of Minnesota, a moderate Baltimore that defeats the military forces in DC, and other wholesome 100 dems. Idk how that's even supposed to work though, you would think a paranoid hard-right military dictatorship with control over the country's nuclear arsenal - which is what the 'Denver Government' is supposed to be - would respond to a UN invasion by kicking off WW3.

Imagining it is pretty difficult, because the modern left tend to be cowards who won't act unless they've got big numbers on their side and a license to burn, rape & pillage from friendly politicians & DAs, as can be seen from Antifa's antics and how quickly the 2020 riots petered out after Kyle Rittenhouse singlehandedly won the Battle of Kenosha. But I would dearly love to see the fallout from one of these Internet reds getting drunk/high/assholish enough to drop that line IRL not even on a black cop or soldier, but on a Hungarian/Romanian/any sort of Slav who grew up during the fall of Communism. That'd surely actually be worth hitting the replay button on, unlike whatever content Far-Left Visual Novel: Days of Rage Edition might ever release with.

Ok I'm going to be biased as fuck but I just wish more mods were done in style of EAW, I mean the content variety and just general approach to the certain ideologies. I mean there will just focus on goofing around stuff like Magocracy or Death Cults but they actually do their homework when doing certain inspirations from history. I mean it in a sense that they don't judge you for playing a certain ideology and you need to be reminded how bad it is(I see you TNO), you already know that and you picked this path because you want to play a bad guy, while also making him a well written character. Personality comes before the ideology of the character is what I'm saying, but I know that in a fucking pony mod you have much more liberties than in "normal" scenerios like TNO, TWR etc. Idk maybe it's just me but when I read characters from those types of mods that try to be story driven, they sound like caricatures of their real life equivalent, but I am more of a fantasy nerd that you bully for all the good reasons,rather than focused on history wehraboo neckbeard so my point might be completly redundant. If anybody here actually knows about this stuff then correct me please since I might dislike it for wrong reasons.

I think the real strength of EaW that lets it have a wide array of ideologies without falling into the usual pitfall of ideologues trying to shove in their narrative is that its so far removed from our real life politics. You can have Stalinist or Nazis equivalents and get away with it because its ponies.
