HOI4 honestly has become a game that i just boot up and map paint when i'm bored, idgaf anymore about learning whatever faggy mechanics Paradox decides to cram into their 9 year old game.

This is how I am about all Paradox games now. IDGAF about Ironman in CK2 anymore when all my games just end up with Spanish Muslims blobbing into France or the HRE blobbing into North Africa and breaking the fragile balance.

All this spergery about TNO makes me realize, why isn't there a proper grand strategy set during the Cold war and all the unique situations and flashpoints that is a balance of winning the ideological war for the major NATO and Warsaw pact nations and unaligned a unique position.

Closest game I can think of is Supreme Ruler: Cold War. Even then, that game has issues to say the least.

Scattered reports from Onionfarms and Lounge 96 journalists paint a bleak picture, and allege that "thousands of users are now trying to dox one another en masse" and that "it is an orgy of permabans", with sitewide casualties having been already estimated in the high hundreds. Many international observers blame an obscure and largely unknown figure, who has since been nicknamed "Lidl Drip", for the current state of distress that the country finds itself in. Rumored to be the individual actively pulling the strings during the final years of the late Josh's premiership, the aims and goals of this "Lidl Drip" remain a mystery, although some sources talk about ideas of an "ethnic cleansing of manosphere-adjecent users" and "Total Moid Death" quickly gaining traction among the more radical BP elements, with it being on track of becoming site policy in the near future.

That is, until today. Early in the morning there have been news of a countercoup by the hands of an ITG-led anti-BP coalition, with their nominal leader, Toji Suzuhara, quickly seizing power over the country's capital and several key cities. Widely known even outside of Kiwi Farms for his uncompromising attitude and nigh-omnipresence among all of its boards, Toji's quick action has found as many supporters as it has critics, with many of the former lauding his eagerness to help others farmers and meteoric rise within the kiwi ranks, and with the latter focusing on his love of anime and sock account accusations.

Toji's official goverment policy can be described with one sentence: Complete annexation of all of Kiwi Farms' splinters and sister websites, no matter the cost.

Already, columns of archivers have been seen approching BP-held territory, with international observers warning about the losses that a full-on Kiwi Civil War would bring. Many farmers have already fled to personal Telegram groupchats and Discord servers in anticipation of the danger, but many are skeptical about the fact of even staying within the country. KF is a ticking time bomb, and all it needs is for a spark to ignite it.​

Way too much going on screen, colors are unintuitive, and it's hard to tell what's going on at a glance. Like, can you tell why the states have different colors at a glance? Does that color represent the alignment of the governor? Or maybe it's the popular vote? Or maybe it's which party has control over the local senate? Like what does this mean?

This could have just been a picture of the senate and then some variables representing voting patterns.

Hell as I am writing this, I remembered TNO already has a better election GUI with Tomsk... and America... and Sverdlovsk (though theirs is text based)

Yeah, it wipes out any progress you made on the Lacerda tree and rather than pauses the progress like how the major country's trees work during the Oil Crisis.

From what I've gathered, the solid province colors are the states any given party is leading in during any senatorial election, while the presidential elections are a different minigame entirely. If you want even more minigame bullshit, check out the South American Cold War. Where Brazil and Argentina compete for influence in South America.
