Plagued /r/TNOmod and the Reddit HOI4 modding community - When a subreddit for a video game mod turns to utter insanity

It's great to see a group of people collectively take the Yanderedev path and focus more on the crap being said about them and the project then finishing said project. Everything is about ego these days, just finish whatever the fuck you have, publish it, get your asspats, and move on. Objectively a hell of a lot less bullshit happens in that scenario but no, people always want to do things the hard way just for the spotlight.

TWR has a canon ending where the Anglo-Americans mop up Nazi Germany after they have a civil war, but to their credit gameplay wise they do a good job letting you easily avoid the civil war and it has good power struggle quick alliance dynamics.

All in all probably the biggest issue I see with TWR is it is just not polished yet; The framework is there but you have like 20 events in the first 5 minutes then things slow down as the current content quickly runs out.

Ive only played Serbia on TWR as of now and the big problem there is that you can really tell that its written by an ESL who doesnt have a solid grasp on English. they need to get an editor or something like that quick because the 2 paths ive played as, while having a solid premise, are barely coherent because of the horrible grammar.

You're right in how these awful communities develop. In this case, it's not so much wish fulfillment as an extreme desire to show that fascism is bad and anarcho-communism is good, which makes many aspects of the mod very exaggerated (allowing the anarcho-communist Siberian Black Army to take over the whole of Russia, for example, and having Himmler go mad to the point where he wants to annihilate all non-Aryans through nuclear warfare). This ruins any hope of realism or plausible storytelling.

Cold War: Iron Curtain seems a bit more reasonable in terms of modding communities. There are still communists about but the lack of alternate history means that fringe extremists aren't as common.

To be fair, Himmler starting a nuclear war to kill the non-Aryans could just have been stolen from The Turner Diaries. Though at least in Turner Diaries they have the excuse of "The System" being deeply anti-white.

In the end i couldn't care less about what happens to the mod or the modders themselves, if they want to have a big erp orgy in their disc or make a bigass retarded propaganda piece that falls flat, it's their time that's being wasted and at least we'll get a few laughs of the whole clusterfuck.
The only thing that leaves a bitter taste for me about this whole shitshow is the whole inducing of underaged people to partake in their degeneracy and brainwashing them to think that transitioning is the miracle cure for their problems.

It really shows you their entire motivation was e-fame from the get-go. They didn't want to make a fun mod, they wanted the asspats. They couldn't get asspats from a job or from a family, but sure video game modding. That'll do.

That is how TWR started, it started as his alt history scenario in alternatehistory.com and he formed a team to make a mod out of it. Also as an Ex-Dev, the guy is mentally unstable af, he had mental breakdowns and attacks of rage everyday in chat and couldn't take even a bit of banter without sperging. It was why i and many other devs left TWR

So is the reason he wants a hyper-cosmopolitan society is because he feels he is between cultures? From my perspective it could be either an inferiority or superiority complex as he may believe he's the future or it could just be a giga-cope, probably the latter just from personal experience happas are pretty unstable about their identity, and a guy I know who is happa is like AP-246 with the whole cosmopolitan deal but he's an SS adoring militarist, so do you guys think it's a sense of superiority or inferiority?
