So out of the box Hearts of Iron is already a funny game without mods cause it pisses people off, and has a mechanics where I guess you can roleplay being a Nazi or something.

So this ability to roleplay a Nazi helps bring in a super autistic community, and that community is pretty cringe cause they groom.

When their is a videogame that already had the capabilities you need, it's a hard sell to reinvent the wheel, and then teach 20 other developers how to collaborate on builds. I guess to your point, using a framework designed to build games ontop of like Unity may be a good idea, but isn't HOI already kind of microsoft excel with a little bit of grafix?

Really, paradox should just sell their "World map with excel underpinnings" framework they use to make half of their games, and then somehow get distro rights. Paradox loves money
