Again: Fred is AWOL, Poonzer went to work on Godherja or whatever, and the drama was mostly about these two.
Unless something big happens in TNO again (which I doubt somehow), it's time to just forget about it. Actually, the time was a few months ago.
Video released this month. When did the "slavophobia" thing happen? If it actually did, I don't even remember. Hohols are late to the party by at least over half a year.

I still dont understand why people liked TNO , what was the draw? it has a cool ui and i liked the advancement of tech , but it removes all the fun of base hoi4.

An alt-history mod where the Axis wins is a cool idea but the people who made (and still make) the mod hate the shit out of anything further right than Pol Pot, so it was never going to be fun for the people who would enjoy such a concept.

ill be honest idgaf about that shit , that doesnt ruin the mod outright , the gameplay sucks , they took the interesting part of hoi4 , being able to work towards attacking any nation , and removed it for their shitty story system in the national focus tree

It also ignores most of what people like about Axis victory alternate history to beat you over the head with spontaneous civil wars and way too long text events about lesbians trying to live in nazi europe.
You could have had super weapons and the super powers gearing up for landfall invasions of each other, instead the mod tries to waste your time as you just read shitty text events written by teenagers.

This thread (including me) has been very critical of his leadership style, but now, it seems that his leadership style was seemingly necessary to get anything done at all.
He might've enforced crunch, cut content, and released content in an immensely bugged state, but he at least released content at all. In the eight months since his departure, merely two updates came out - the first one was nothing but bugfixes and half a path of content, and the second one wasn't even developed by the TNO team.
The new leadership council is clearly not getting anything done, and it's becoming clear that his iron fist might have actually been necessary.

I think so, TNO still doesn't seem to have a dedicated core team that contributes anything. So they needed the iron hand to tardwrangle all the volunteer shitters to get it done. Panzer created the problem in the first place though by choosing the people he did and accepting an quantity over quality approach with team recruitment.

Arguably the Japanese were just as brutal if not worse than the Nazis. Japanese POW camps were literal hells on earth and worse than the German ones. 1 in 3 Americans POW died in Japanese camps. As opposed to the 1 to 25 in German camps. Additionally the brutality inflicted on the citizens of China and Korea was unprecedented. For example they would literally gang rape pregnant women then cut the babies out of their stomachs. There are pictures from the rape of Nanking that show Japanese soldiers impaling babies on bayonets. And I could go on about the “Comfort women”. I’m not downplaying German war crimes they were atrocious.I’m just just stating that they were far from the only evil in that war.

The nips where cruel, ruthless monsters. Also didn't they make plans to commit mass genocide on the entire non japanese world? Like they wanted literally everyone in the world who wasn't japanese to die and be replaced by nips. I think they were worse than the Nazis.

The mod has BY FAR the best presentation and time put into it than any other Hoi4 mod.
The narrative and lore is terrible, but the plot is presented very well and you can tell that whoever writes this knows a whole bunch about literature and how to write. It's like a Picasso painting - it's very weird and many will dislike it, but you can respect the effort and talent of the artist, even if it was misguided.
And unlike most Hoi4 mods (including Vanilla Hoi4), the campaign is huge and many countries can take 15-20 ingame years to finish its storyline (meanwhile, in Vanilla Hoi4, it is terrible to play the game past 1944)
I don't need to tell you why this mod is bad, because there is a 200+ pages thread about it, but hopefully you can see why so many people are invested/interested in it

I have hopes for TNO Redux.
