2/ I am blocked but if any professional journalists are spreading this, let me know. I just find the lack of any sort of basic standards of fact-checking so frustrating, and it's only getting worse. These people should not be trusted with the news.

I'd heard that Rani'd been dealing with health problems for a bit, but I hadn't been able to touch base with her in quite a while.
If I had to guess, it eventually all caught up.

....Which fucking sucks. While me and Rani went at it hard back in the day, I had a genuine respect for her, both as an artist and game maker; she had actual talent and care and could give as good as she got when it came to shitposting. It takes some serious bravery to call out your own side when dealing with the loons of the trans activist circuit, and that is something always worth celebrating. She didn't deserve what happened to Chloe and the fact that so many of them went fangs out on her when she refused to let them exploit Sagal's suicide was telling.

I was glad to have known her. My sympathies to everyone else dealing with her loss.

Fucking damn it, she did kill herself. And the only thing I and many who knew her can do is ask why.

There's so many possible reasons behind it. Rani had an unbelievably hard life. The loss of Chloe alone was fucking brutal, and Rani was considered an outcast by some of the community she used to roll with for simply not going along with their bullshit. I knew she'd been fighting her health problems quite a while - maybe those were why or contributed - I don't know.

In the absence of a note or the like, we can really only speculate.

Part of why this sucks so much was that I know what Rani was capable of. I've seen how strong she can be at her peak; the knowledge that someone like her could collapse under their own issues is a sobering reminder that everyone has their breaking points.
