Rampaging Police Execute Innocent Man - He was Mexican though so its ok

"Recruits are chosen from the best warriors among humanity. Naturally this makes Death and Feral Worlds prized recruitment grounds, as such harsh and primal conditions produce the best warriors. However hive worlds are considered the ideal source of potential recruits, the populace of the lower levels composed of some of the most murderous scum in the human Imperium. Whole gangs of hive scum are sometimes hunted down and captured for recruitment. Among the most valued traits in a recruit are aggression and psychotic-level killer instinct."

July 26 (UPI) -- Close to midnight on Sunday, Southaven, Miss., police arrived at the wrong house to serve an arrest warrant and shot a man dead in his own home, according to reports.

Ismael Lopez, 41, was shot dead late Sunday night after he checked to see who was at his front door. But the police were supposed to be across the street to serve an arrest warrant for Samuel Pearman, who was wanted on an assault charge, reported WREG.

"Someone didn't take the time to analyze the address," said Murray Wells, the attorney representing Lopez's family. "This is incredibly tragic and embarrassing to this police department that they can't read house numbers."

DeSoto County Prosecutor John Champion said it was "possible" that police went to the wrong house and confirmed that Lopez's name was not on the warrant.

"He was not wanted for anything at all," Champion said of Lopez. "I want to make that abundantly clear."

But police officers said they were forced to shoot Lopez when he opened his front door and his pet pit bull charged at them. Police said they opened fire at the dog and saw Lopez holding a gun from behind his door.

"One of the officers did fire a shot at the pit bull dog. While this was going on, they also noticed at the time that a gun was pointed outside the residence," Champion said. "At this point, the officers began hollering 'put the gun down, put the gun down,' at which point that did not occur and there were more than one shot was fired toward the door and there was a male subject inside the residence that was killed."

Speaking on behalf of the Lopez family, Jordan Castillo, 23, told the Commercial Appeal that Lopez's wife disputed the police version of events. He said police began firing through a closed door and that Lopez never picked up his firearm, which she said was found by police in the usual spot he always keeps it in the living room.

"She said when he got up, she heard the footsteps all the way up to the door, she heard the doorknob turn, and then after the doorknob turned it was just gunshots from there," Castillo said.

This reminds me of that news story a few years back where some cops shot a kid who answered the door because they "thought his video game controller was a gun", or the one where a cop did a drive-by on some kids playing with super soakers because "he didn't know if it was a shootout or not".
The point is this shit happens a lot and the cop is probably gonna get away with it.

I remember that. I think it was a wiimote. And aren't super soakers neon colors? I don't think there are any that even look like a real gun. I think that real guns in silly colors are actually a bad idea due to them possibly being mistaken for toys.

All the officer has to do is say "I feared for my life". If his camera wasn't on then he can make up whatever story he wants.

Unfortunately, a lot of people always side with the police because there are so many dindus like Mike Brown out there just asking for it.

The super soaker one actually was caught on film and yes, they looked nothing like real guns. If I remember correctly he still got off with a pardon or some shit.

The police's version of events is that they approached the house, the guy let out the pit bull dog to attack them and they shot the dog, they then noticed he was pointing a gun at them and they shot him.

The version of events from a family friend is that the cops didn't even let him open the door, they just shot through the closed door as soon as he started to open the door. He's on a video at the Commercial Appeal website, if you want to watch it.

In my opinion the family have appointed a half wit to talk on their behalf and his version of events doesn't make any sense.

The cops didn't have body cams, the dept don't issue them.

My guess is that the police's version of events is accurate, and the homeowner was panicked by a potential intruder and released the dog with his gun in his hand and that got him killed.

Police are supposedly the professionals and outside of a few special kinds of warrants, are supposed to knock and announce their presence.

For some reason, many police jobs involve going into the kind of neighborhoods where people entirely rationally fear armed intruders and may not react well to violent oafs suddenly invading their property without warning and kicking and smashing shit, especially when they themselves were not breaking the law in any way.

They don't get to murder them because they were too stupid to find the correct house on a warrant where, if they had a warrant for a "dynamic entry" involving just smashing the door without announcement and beating the fuck out of everyone inside, they should have done their research on the residence in question and be able to recognize it. Those no-knock warrants are generally only given by a judge after the police specifically aver that the inhabitant of the residence is armed and dangerous or likely to be in possession of a large drug cache, i.e. to be able to destroy evidence immediately unless caught unawares.

So any time shit like this happens, the police fucked up seriously, because they told a judge some particular person in some particular house was immensely dangerous, but at the same time, had no fucking clue where he even lived.

The guy they were looking for was accused of strangling his ex gf earlier that night at a gas station.

The street they were on I've looked at in Google Street View. There's precious little house numbers viewable in daylight, never mind what it's like at night.

Just because you hear someone outside doesn't give you the right to set your dog on them, especially if that dog was a pit bull.

The police have said the dog was sent out to attack them and that the man had a gun. The family have made no statement about the dog, and confirmed that the man does have guns.

Well, the family is getting a shitton of money for this.
Wishing the COPS would be the ones paying the dough.
Why having the taxpayer get hit by these clowns stupidity?

Who gave the pardon?

The worship of authority is my number one concern about this country. Too many people automatically side with law enforcement because they want to see heads cracked.

Fuck BLM, but fuck the police more.

Well American's are conditioned from a young age to worship authority. Even when it's a police force that increasingly looks more like a banana republic's military every day.

Regular reminder: The cops are not a national force. Every police force is under the thumb of a particular town/district. Considering that this story is from Mississippi I'm not surprised that Officers Bubba and John Luke did stupid shit in response to Taco Tejada doing something stupid. Mississippi is the home base of deadbeats and redneck pillocks.

Makes me glad the cops in my area are just lazy fucks who sit at speed traps all day.

Suburban cops are a joy. They give maybe one and a half fucks because yuppies constantly try to pull them into yuppy drama bullshit and they know that the only thing they're gaurenteed is a healthy pension once they hit 55.

If you accept the police version of events as true, that the Mexican let a pit bull dog out to attack them and pointed a gun at them, what exactly is the intelligent response to that?

On the redneck pillocks point, the house on the intersection of that street is proudly displaying a confederate flag.

Why shouldn't he sic his dog on a gang of intruders? Police love creeping around in black costumes all night and love playing the victim when they end up in shitty situations because of it
