Containment Random Chris Updates

Any updates on 14 Branchland Court? I want to know if anything happened at their home.

I honestly think that Chris would abort the entire imaginary sweethearts thing as soon as he's fed a convincing trollsona again.
Eh. I think he'd be willing to introduce a troll into his harem, but I'm not certain that he'd completely abandon his imaginary heartsweets. A "real" girl demanding Chris choose between them or her could be pretty funny, but I don't think someone would be able to actually engineer that. Like, I don't think someone who wasn't okay with imaginary Pokemon polyamory could get through, and even then, they'd honestly have to be a bit of a lolcow themselves to try.

Chris still in denial that MLP is being rebooted.

He also said this to a VA for the show a few weeks back. It's too bad the reboot isn't happening until 2020 - if it were closer to the dimensional merge, it'd be two failed prophesies back-to-back.

Sadly it probally doesn’t matter since he’ll just make up more nonsense about why it didn’t happen like ‘Skeletor and Robotnik have corrupted this timeline but Magi-chan tells me it’s now happening in 2030 FOR SURE!’.

Chris really isn’t much different from those crazy preachers who think they’ve found a secret code in the bible that tells them the date for the end of the world, even if they’re proven wrong they’ll just say they miscalculated somehow but the event is still very much happening.

I wonder......the merger shite is something he cannot effect or exert any influence over in reality because it's not a real thing. However, MLP getting rebooted after MLP:FIM concludes, is. I wonder what the chances are that we might see a resurgence of BLARMS-type spergery from Chris-Chan?

Christine's love quest is over, she just has to claim her prize, I'm not a troll. My love for her is true.
You have Chris's address. If you truly love him, go to him.
This is a good point. I don't believe you love Christine until you've demonstrated it by traveling to her.

Chris risked his safety and his livelihood to go rescue Julie in Ohio. That sets the standard for true love. I don't think you really love Christine until you do that.

If he wasn't betting the farm on the merger (and thus sapping his emotional attention) I'd predict he'd really actually chimp out. Not necessarily getting himself in trouble, but he'd be pretty pissed, I think.

the only thing chris needs to be focused on is buying the farm, preferably mid-livestream with barb in the background, lamenting that she's having to bury chris instead of the other way around

The Jehovah's Witnesses have played this card five times: 1878, 1881, 1914, 1918 and 1925.

The leaders responsible seem to have back-peddled after each, with little to no consequence. I think something along the lines of @Pickle Inspector's "Skeletor and Robotnik have corrupted this timeline" seems likely.

IIRC, it was only The Jehovah's Witnesses' third failed messianic prediction that actually disillusioned a fair number of their flock. It's hard to guess the impact a failed Dimensional Merge would have on Chris.

Chris is fully expecting the merge to happen. He's not freaking out about trying to replace his car. He also tried to borrow money from people with the promise that he'd pay them back with cwcville's coffers.

I think he's betting serious parts of his life on this happening.

I'm going more towards scam. He can use Barb's van for awhile. That got fixed over the Summer I think? He can get a car later, and you know he'll be begging for some money or just a car as a gift. Grifting people now for the CWCbucks later is a worry for Future Chris. Chris only thinks about today and the rest of the week it seems.

I agree. I mean, messianic predictions given specific dates is nothing new. Even when they fail, the "prophet" can often get right back up on stage and make a new one without having lost credibility. In the case of The Jehovah's Witnesses, they had to go through this three times before anyone really drifted away.

I think attaching a specific date to the realization of the fantasy world is a desperate ploy to bolster its "reality", to "renew faith in the believer". To give an analogy from here: Darksydephil's supposedly blackmailing "Escort" announced that she was waiting for a Non-Disclosure Agreement to expire. After the six months were up, she'd spill Phil's dirty secrets. In reality, she wasn't an escort, and had never met Phil. Brenda Bronsgeest is a startlingly unattractive woman who had spent the past decade living in a fantasy world online as the sexually desirable object she prolly longs to be. Perhaps fortunately for her, she was discovered before her back was finally up against the wall.

For Brenda and The Jehovah's Witnesses, there was a large group expecting to see results come the given time. Whether or not Chris will back-pedal his "prophecy" might depend on if he's doing this more for himself or his internet followers.

In regards to the car, he can't be grifting anyone if he hasn't been publishing it.

This is a private belief of his, which is why it's worrying to me. Like how he was talking about slicing open his on reddit long before he actually did it.

Chris has an absent working theory of mind, so I doubt he's doing anything for his Internet followers. Chris' life sucks, so he has to buy into some magical crap that will solve all his problems. He did the same thing with the taint. Chris could give two squirts worth of duck shit about his following or mother. If some portal suddenly opened to cartoon land, he would leave everything behind. The truth is, he knows he's fucked but playing pretend just delays the inevitable in his mind.

When it eventually kicks in that it probably won't, will Chris fall into a deep depression? Or have a meltdown/emotional breakdown of sorts? Or just be pissed and bitch at everyone in proximity?
