It automatically quotes the entire message from there and it's too long, you need to either select portions of it to quote or copy the whole thing if you need to.

Because, as @azdadu said, the post is too long to be quoted, that's why the 'quote' option is greyed out entirely, as in completely not available.
So you go and highlight a part of your post, for example all the stuff before the first image. A little inlay popup with "quote | reply" appears on your screen if the portion of text is of quotable length. You click "reply" and the quote appears in the reply box at the bottom of the page.
Then you click the "[ ]" (toggle BB code) button in the editor and copy everything to the thread you want to quote your post in.
Raw it should look like this:

Sadly I agree. Well, I guess you can say never say never. But at the moment Chris' content is boring compared to someone like Daniel Larson's live streams. Encyclopedia Dramatica said that Chris early on only for it fire back in their face with some of the most memorable sagas.
