Containment Random Chris Updates

The so-called "Classic Era" is now really short-lived.
I'd say the Classic Era began with the creation of Sonichu in March 2000 and ended when Bob died in 2011. Tomgirl saga began the same year I believe. He wasn't being observed for most of that period, but the beginning of the Love Quest, his '04 Christmas video, his public feud with Mary Lee Walsh, and the first few issues of Sonichu all happened before he was discovered in '07. 2009-2010 was definitely Classic Era, but you're right in that it's definitely shorter than the combined Postclassical Era (2011-2017), Goddess Era (2017-2021), Dark Era (2021-2023) and Modern Era (2023-present).
I got a little carried away with the classification, but my point is that when people think Chris Chan, they think Classic Chris. When they see his writing style, even if it's about how he's Jesus and married to Magi-chan (post-Classic Era developments), they think Chris Chan. Why water down such an iconic element of this guy that you're supposed to be marketing?

It may not be so much watering him down as it is making him more accessible to newer audiences. The two definitely overlap, but given how many people 'discovered' Chris due to the news coverage of the incest arrest, EWU's bodycam video, and all of the YouTube milking prior to those events, it's likely that a lot of the current interest comes from the past six or seven years or so. People who have been around since the pre-ED days will be fine with his writing style, but newer audiences may not relate as well. Wouldn't go so far as to say it's a complete explanation, but it does seem plausible that it would play into things as they are now.

Yeah I agree it sucks but that might be a good enough motive for Caden given the financial incentive.
"Honor Roll" is a lolcow, not a business. If he is gonna make a massive ass of himself online, it should be all on his own. Not with those weens turning him into a "content creator" and with him being an ass online as a marketable service. At least when he was manipulated by trolls back in the "Classic Era", it was for the lulz, not marketing.

Not gonna lie... After I saw how it turned out, I almost bought it. Almost.

But yeah, this is a large part of the reason why Chris is mostly about as interesting as floor wax these days. Left to his own devices, he was jailed on more than one occasion, nearly ran over a game store owner, pepper-sprayed a Gamestop employee, got kicked out of community college, burned down his house, trooned out, deluded himself into believing that he's an interdimensional deity, fucked his own mother, and more. Now, as an indentured servant, he just sits around playing vidya and sweatshopping. Flutter's been an interesting distraction, but one that hasn't really gone anywhere.

The weening is definitely (and in a large part) to blame. Not just Caden and Praetor, but also all of the dumb fucks who are trying to get him to dance for them so that they have something to post to social media. He's their commodity for the attention economy, and if he isn't producing content then they can't eke out those YouTube FunBux™ and all-important likes, shares, and subscribes or similar.

In a way, Chris has actually outsmarted them. Not intentionally, of course: he's not that capable. But he's managed to make himself so dull that their true retardation has been brought out into sharp focus as they keep trying to milk him and fail.

Why uis he advertising random tgransformers toys? Is there anything deeprer to this?

It's one of his classic behaviours. Not just Transformers, but MLP, Lego, Sailor Moon, etc. In this case, he's stuck a bunch of his own drawings onto the boxes. Just dumb behaviour.

Wait, tdoes this mean he is off the leash?

No. He's always been able to run around in public. It's not like he was stuck in a kennel and only let out for an hour a day.

So is this a return to tje golden age or am I liek being optimistic?
