I feel like his motivation for that changed over time. If at first he felt like telling everybody about the grossest details of his life made him honest, I think that nowadays he just does it for pity baiting. Not just nowadays, he's known since middle school how to milk the "helpless autist" act to get pity, dodge responsibilities, and weasel out of the consequences of his actions. It's so reflexive to him by now that he actually hedges and denies when he makes a positive statement about himself, because a competent person doesn't need pity and leniency.
So you'll often see him saying things like "I am smart... ... um, BUT I still suffer from my mental blanks and I have my flaws like everyone else because no one is perfect."

I cant even hate on Chris for this; if you willingly give Chris any sort of money per month you deserve every delay and excuse thats coming to you; Chris is just chasing the dollar on a string as usual.
