Containment Random Chris Updates

He could always apply for food stamps, though - right?
He hasn't posted about whether he did or not. But it's questionable as to whether he'd qualify.

"If you are receiving SSDI and also qualify for SNAP benefits because you have limited income and resources, you can receive food stamps under SNAP. If your income and resources are too great, you will not be eligible for SNAP benefits even if you are receiving SSDI."

He admits they do have food. He just wants to go buy meat. He’s not going to starve.

I feel like a lot of the time, Chris says “we have no food!” but it’s more accurate to say “we don’t have food I want to eat!”

Or it’s so lost in the kitchen hoard they they can’t find it.... that could be a problem

Some states have done away with the resource tests except in a handful of circumstances, but I can't get Virginia's SNAP handbook to display so I don't know if they are one. The program is federal, so the income limits are the same. There isn't a gross income test when all household members are elderly or disabled, so they have that beat.

They are subject to the net income test. Depending on whether the Chris and Barb are admitting to sharing their food shopping and eating, the current net limits for one and two people are $1012 and $1372. Net income is gross minus SNAP expenses. Chris and/or Barb would get the standard deduction (minimal, $150ish, not sure for Virginia), excess medical expenses, most of the mortgage, and utilities (also not sure if Virginia still does actual amount of utilities or a flat allowance).

Assuming the test is passed, then the amount of net income determines the actual amount of food stamps. I know the Patreon and Ebay stuff has been argued for his SSDI, but it's absolutely income for SNAP. He can send in proof if it goes down or stops and have his benefit recalculated, but if he's not reporting it, then it's welfare fraud. If they called it self-employment, which is most likely, there would also be a 20% deduction from that amount.

Seriously; not that they cant find the food, but shit like, is the stove clear to cook on, or is buried under 3ft of Nintendo Plus magazines from 1998? Or, they "can't cook" because the frypan is covered in an inch of mould, at the bottom of a 3yr old pile of dirty dishes Chris doesn't want to deal with.

My ex's mother became a hoarder when all her kids moved out, and she ended up living off take-away food, just because she couldn't get her shit together to get her kitchen in back into order; I bet Chris & Barb are the same. That getting take-away or microwave crap is more expensive, but easier than cleaning/un-burying all their pots, pans, etc.

His comment about "...or else I'll have to live off canned food..." makes it sound like that, to me. Chris probably doesn't know where the can-opener is.

Knowing the Chandler family, it's not meat how we think it; it's like those meals you cook in the microwave. Or maybe some chicken?
Probably hungry man meals and canned shit, though I believe he gets ideas from time to time and attempts to cook stuff.

Didn't he try those meal kits a while back and completely fucked up a chicken dish? then there was that odd hamburger thing...

Wait, does he microwave fresh meat/poultry!?

Did we just witness Chris talking to an automated bot???? And if so, he does understand that it's a automated reply, meaning it's not ran by a person.
Any time he gets money, we see him shortly thereafter buy Lego or some similar shit on ebay and elsewhere. We've literally seen this. Also as autistic as it was, the @Sonic Rainboom gift card thing showed he wasted that, too. I'm sure Barb gives him a haircut and spends some of this stuff on bills, but the fact he has it means he then can free up his :tugboat: bucks for these dumb purchases.

Same when he sold the Sanic totem. Nearly immediately, he was buying hundreds of dollars worth of dumb shit.

hich is why doing it should be left to a ween.

I agree with you. We don't need to see Chris transaction history to see that Chris is not as good with money as Marvin claims, sorry, but I don't see how we can trust that he is good with managing money if we've aslo witnessed him spend it. There was that time on eBay, where he thought someone bought something of his for $5000, and Chris spent that money even before it cleared his PayPal. We've also seen idiots donate in excess of up to $1,000-$2,000 in some cases, and Chris immeadiatly goes out to spend it, he doesn't even make attempts to keep some of it. Saying that he does is kind of untrue, because what happened to the donation jackz gave Chris for bronycon??? He spent all of it, and didn't even bother buying a damn ticket first, and now that it's gone, he is now begging the bronycon coordinators for not a regular ticket, but a premium ticket, to which he thinks they'll will bow down and give it to him because he's entitled to it, he is internet famous/celebrity (more like laughingstock/train wreck) after all.

My point is this, even though none of us have access to his bank account or transaction history, there is soft evidence that Chris is incapable of saving money, because he has a bad habit of spending it all on useless junk and Legos, never using it for what he was originally wanting to purchase with it.

Chris needs to get a crockpot.

All you literally have to do is throw in meat, veggies and some broth and let it sit for 4-8 hours.

I'd recommend an Instant Pot but it's probably beyond his grasp.

Considering Chris' go to excuse for money was Barb's teeth for about a good 3-4 years we can be pretty sure the money isn't going where he says it goes. I expect that most of the donations he gets from ebay/begging does go to bills and emergencies but 100% of his tugboat goes to legos, transformers, and $750 dollars worth of skylanders merch. He sees ebay/donations as "free" money and doesn't think to dip into or save his tardbucks

"we're living off of Canned Food and Powdered Milk" sounds like it's a dwindling resource. Like he's saying that they're approaching starvation.

Your post here is a great example of why you do need to see the transaction history. The big expenditures you're mentioning in this post frequently does go to necessities like the mortgage.

Why is he kicking that $6000 figure around again? Didn't he get a couple extra grand last month through sales and stuff?
if he wants to get Weens to pay him he should put the original sonichu pages up for sale
That's his problem though. He's just been selling his old stuff.

He needs to make pages of his comic on a regular basis, keep his Patreon going, make some additional artwork to sell on ebay, and make a couple medallions every month.

Sonichu is his job. He needs to do his job instead of sitting there, e-begging and hoping for a miracle.
