Looks like Seanan realized that Chris is nuts.

Right. Seanan near missed a fucking train wreck there. Eventually, everyone will realize how delusional/mentally unwell Chris is and will end up reacting the same way seanan did to Chris. It's sad really, Chris is 36 years old, believes his imaginary friends are real, and that he's married to two of them, and wants advice or someone to teach him about alternate dimensions...

I'm sure she just found a copy. I mean look at this thing:

I wouldn't bury a dead stray dog in that much less wear it around a con.

True. I forgot just how rat-baggy it really had gotten. *sigh*

I knew he was trying to sell it at one point when he was being extorted by those two faggots, but wasn't sure if it had ever been sold or not. Seeing it on this chick made me wonder.

Now I too wonder just how common this particular pattern is. I bet if you live in a fair size city (and cared enough to bother) with a large number of 'goodwill' stores, Sally-Anns or Value Villages you could probably come up with one or two but your odds are much longer trying to find one in a current clothes store methinks.

Why are there two Sonichu faces? Did he commission her for Sonichu bedroom slippers? Do I want to know?

Poor Seanan McGuire. She had no idea that her prior answer was going to require an elaborate legalistic disclaimer because, well, apparently she hasn't entered this particular rabbit hole.

The intention of the creator was for Chris to keep one plushy and let Chris sell the other on ebay to help make up some of the money that was lost from the extortion.

He basically just broadcasted a great way for the trolls to get to him. Like "hey Christine, I can tell you extensive details about the multiverse! Have you tried using your ring to fly yet? Do you have access to any roofs?".
I always sort of felt that was going to be the end game of the Wise/Boyd scam. After bleeding Chris for all they could have him climb to the top of a building that's several stories high after convincing him he could fly like Rainbow Dash. I wouldn't doubt for a second someone as sadistic as they were would do that as a final display of control.
Looks like these tweets from the Marvel writer were what prompted Chris' outburst last night after all. I wonder if she ended up having a private convo with Chris or if her interactions with other twitter users apologizing for misleading anyone were what set him off.

This a very bad situation for him. People can inadvertently send Chris down some nutso path without realizing it. I had no idea what these "earths" are, but I gather that the different iterations of the comics have different "universes". The author assumed Chris meant comic books where Chris was looking for actual facts from this "expert" on other dimensions. All of this makes him open to exploitation. He has no one to protect him.

What happens when someone does take advantage of this? I think it would be very easy to get Chris to pay for magic lessons, astral plane projection space-time traveler lessons, or something to that effect. Not to hurt him, but just to get his money. People who want to hurt him could do that, too. Chris knows enough that some things will harm him, but he could be convinced that something harmful is going to unleash his magic or whatever.

I would argue that the Wise-Boyd swindle was ultimately ruined by use of wrong tactics. Fear was unnecessary. Humoring Chris and getting him to trust them would have enabled them to completely shut out the outsiders, like what Watermess is trying to do.
