Called it. Interestingly my phone died today. Possibly to keep me from friending Chris. The phone self destructed rather than have any interaction with Chris.
Okaaay there's stuff to unpack here. first, I bet he chose Instinct on color alone, because we know he loves 'Sonichu Yellow' and Instinct's color for gyms and UI is yellow. (the other options in game are red and blue). The stereotype is that yellow is made up of the nice people who don't get completely batshit about maxing stats and owning all the gyms, they just wanna get high and have a good time. How Chris fits in that I leave for you to decide.
I don't know how the Pokemon Plus ball + DS whatever works, so from Chris's petition all I can gather is that he doesn't know about adventure sync, which is a feature already in the game that makes the game track all of your walking even when the app is off, so I don't know what else he wants.
I hope he continues with the screenshots, as an idiot still playing Go (it gets me to get off my fat ass shut up) they're interesting to me. I looked and went 'Jesus' that he's level 23 already, then the next screenshot has him burning TWO items at the same time, haha. That kind of explains it, one of the items gives you double XP for 30 minutes. You do get a few of them here and there for free as you level up, but somehow I doubt Chris is just using those, he must be buying more with real world money. Unless..
What he means about drop-off is that he was able to leave a pokemon in the Gym (and "rep" it for his team) in what I assume is a tacky giant chair roadside attraction. If he walked or drove there is unknown, but I guess one could google maps the distance if so interested. Anyway what's interesting to me is that he was able to put a pokemon in to start with. 1513 CP is piddling when people often leave stuff 3000 and upwards in Gyms, so if that's his best, then he doesn't have the kind of critters needed to in turn take down a Gym on his own, (which you need to do before being allowed to 'drop off' critters) so either the Gym was completly vacant and he lucked into it, which could be if the pkmn go scene is truly dead over there ( I don't know, it's still pretty hot over here, where a Gym being vacant is something I've seen only once in like a year of playing and it was in a shithole tiny town) or he lucked into a free spot after someone from his team took the Gym earlier, there's 6 spots available, so it could be, this is far more common and I think I see someone else's Onix in the background. Either way it was luck only that he was able to leave a pokemon in at all. We'll see if he posts more screenshots I guess.
Shit that's the most I've written in a post here I think, feel free to let those ratings fly.
By the way people sometimes use a GPS spoofer to play the game without leaving their home, and I've never cared about that since for me the point is to walk, but damn if it isn't tempting to start using one to set a phone's location to Ruckersville and toss all his pokemon out of the gyms.
