Containment Random Chris Updates

Chris gets SSDI. Also, $1200 in 2011 is worth $1262 in 2014 making it not unreasonable that the number rose because of inflation.
Read the wiki, this has been discussed ad nauseum, summer-dude. There's a welfare program, and there's a retirement/paid disability program. Chris is receiving the second. Chris is dipping into the program where you pay into for your retirement benifits. It's supposed to be for widows and children, but a lot of people have argued for a very long time that it's being abused.

In 2014, he was receiving 1,300, look it up on the Wiki, it's probably more with cost of living now. Come correct next time.
I was just sharing my opinion on the West's welfare state. If you don't like it, that's your problem. He'll still be getting close to 2,000 grand when Barb kicks it. There are a lot of disabled people who don't have that luxury, yet Chris is given money that should go to actual retired people. It's not about Chris, the West' welfare system is broken, and then you have political figures who scream and yell about change.......yet, they're giving money away to people like Chris and practically inviting third worlders by such acts.

Chris doesn't receive welfare, he's living off Bob's retirement benefits.
Not that he deserves anything, but if Bob earned it and the money's there, then it's legal for him to withdraw it. I could go on for years about how our social net is exploited by shit ass users yet unavailable to people who truly deserve a hand up to get back on their feet. For example, if you are female and have not had kids, in many states you cannot get any kind of assistance no matter how fucked you are. Getting disability if your body doesn't work takes at least 3 years of lawyers, no matter how sick you are, and if you don't have someone to pay your way in the interim, you are going to die. As far as retirees, I think one reason people tend to join the AARP when they hit fifty here is for the collective bargaining power and access to group insurance etc. It's a giant fucking mess and I hope I can work until I die because otherwise I'm going to be in a broken down van by the creek.

I’m guessing that at some point collection agencies are going to get much more aggressive about collecting Barb’s (then posthumous) credit card debt because he cosigns, and since Chris doesn’t have a wage to garnish and the money has to come from somewhere, Tugboat or I don’t know what is the only option for payment.

The biggest thing in jeopardy is the house.

Chris set his Twitter to public, after over four months of having it locked.

I understand that she makes him cosign her loans and shit. If his name were not on them, then it would be too bad, you cannot legally inherit debt unless your name is also on the loan/mortgage/etc documents. But since she makes him sign, that fucks him.
Couldn't Chris plea that he was corerced into co signing and thus get out of inheriting nothing but debt from Barb? Generally speaking of you're pressured into signing something under threat of abuse or suicide (given Barb's history of doing that to get the boys to do what she wants) doesn't that mean the contracts are null and void?

Maybe, maybe not. Bob was the one who got Chris onto the tugboat in the first place.

Given that he was 55 when Chris was born, he was probably starting to think seriously about retirement around the time that Barb plopped him out. Having had a few years to figure out that they'd spawned a nautist as retirement age approached, Bob may have started looking for ways to secure Chris' financial future - at least to some extent - since Chris sure as hell wouldn't be capable of doing it for himself. Absent a trust fund (which Bob was unlikely to be able to afford to start), SSDI was probably the best idea he could come up with.

Granted, that's speculation, but it seems reasonable given the timing of the situation. Bob was the one person in that family who understood forward planning, and this likely was just part of it.

And that is why I blame Bob. Partially at least. He told Chris not to work and keep his tugboat. But Bob apparently did not know he could keep his tugboat and at least make some on the side. I forgot how much but it was a sizable sum. Had Chris been made to work I sincerely believe he would have been better off. Not just because of the financial aspect but because of the interaction with a lot of other people. That would have told him to not shit himself, when he is out of line, and perhaps told him to pack his shit and leave. After which Bob could have told him to fuck off out of the house and find other employment. He would have needed to mind his hygiene, he would have been far more active which is healthy for people, he would have put his shitty degree to work, not have time to get had by the Idea Guys, been a bit more assertive and told Barb to fuck off and clean her damn horde, stop getting into more debt and not take his money. His life would have been better.

He probably still would have been a sped, just a much better one.

I think it finally got through to Chris that he was preaching to the choir at this point and it's time to proselytize his message to the greater world.

Sidenote: Anything I'm missing that this changes feature-wise?

  • Chris is no longer talking to the void, people that do not follow him can read his comments on their posts.
  • Chris is able to be followed by anyone, and his tweets are now public.
  • Chris still does not have the anyone can send DMs feature, so don't get any ideas.

Chris worked at a Wendy's. He made a child cry by doing a Donald Duck impression at them.

I mean I get it, people think a real job will toughen him up - but you can't fix Chris. It reminds me of when Hank Hill sent Bobby to military camp. No punishments were able to break him. It just wore on everyone else instead.

Weird that Chris put his account back to public. I can't help but think that he's going to go on some big rant about how the merge is coming and "just ya'll wait". Motherfucker aboutta upload a manifesto lol
