Containment Random Chris Updates

I don't get what Chris is going for when he draws mouths.

These guys look like they're doing a battle shout and have no teeth so it's just the tongue showing.

This guy looks like he didn't wipe his mouth after eating spaghetti with his face.

And then there's this vertical-lipped abomination.

I was just thinking that, what happened to the 'off to the side smile' of his older sonichu drawings and medallions? That stupid red hole in the mouth just looks stupid, and frankly what I see when I see a round red hole in the middle of that face (especially the last one) is the bow photon torpdeo tube of a Klingon cruiser from Star Trek TMP warming up and getting ready to fire on V'Ger.

Hasbro owns both Magic the Gathering and MLP so I'm surprised they didn't hit him with a Cease and Desist yet. Hell, there was a group of people making a MTG set featuring the ponies that was free to download for fun and Hasbro told them to stop because they were making said crossover themselves for charity. They are INCREDIBLY protective of their IP, but not as bad as Disney I'd say. I wonder how Chris would react when Hasbro forces him to stop selling the card sets? It's only a matter of time.
While Hasbro isn't as woke as Disney, I doubt even they would want the stigma of being the company that sued that a helpless Autistic trans woman for copyright infringement. No matter what he does or how much he screws up, chris has those two shields in the opression Olympics to hide behind.

I think that its more along the lines of it would cost them a lot more money than it’s worth to sue Chris.

Yeah, Chris is a nobody and even the game he's copying is just some minor fandom thing which as far as I can tell is only sold at convensions.

Hasbro might care if Chris somehow started to make a success of selling his card game.

Thing is, chris and success are about as far apart as chris and reality are.

they might contact him since he's selling it. WIzards are like disney. they will sue over anything.

Is the barb card a reference to her trying to steal someone else's husband? I was recently reading about that.

Artwork, sad but true.

I think you guys are underestimating how petty these companies are.
Seems the only thing possibly holding back a corporation from suing for copyright or trademark infringement is bad publicity. A headline like "SEGA sues autistic transgendered individual over fan art" isn't exactly best for publicity in Current Year.

For the people saying it would be too expensive to sue Chris, or that it would be bad PR, Disney sued daycare centers for having Mickey Mouse murals on the wall. I think you guys are underestimating how petty these companies are.

Hasbro hasn't sued over having more porn of ponies than of Pokemon, making MLP the most Rule 34'ed franchise in history.

I know some bronies have published fanfiction and very quietly sold their books, but that market is so small it flies under hasbro's radar.

Sega however has a different history though. I recall back in the day they issued cease and desist orders several times against Fanfiction.net for use of archie characters (which FF ignored) and YMNDT for the old sonic sez parodies. But chris has yet to make any real money off Sonichu. The comics barely have anything to do with Sonichu anyway. When chris starts to actually publish comics and make real money then we'll see a lawsuit... which is never.

Fallout Equestria has pretty openly sold hardcover volumes and apparently still does. The one they shut down looked more confusingly like an official project. They also shut down projects that directly use literally stolen assets because well, duuuh. Otherwise they leave things alone.

Even Disney is increasingly picky about what they actually shut down.

In short, Hasbro isn't going after Chris. Sega isn't going after Chris. Pokemon isn't going after Chris. Maybe if he started making lots of money.

I'm not an attorney but, I do drink a lot and I'm half jew so I'm kinda like one. Well that, and I worked as a paralegal, my understanding of intellectual property law for massive corporate entities is basically "the squeaky wheel gets the grease". Large parties making money with the least regard for IP such as a business called "MICKEY MOUSE'S DINER" get special attention from the legal dept. The vast majority of "light offenders" such as Chris typically it starts off with the same nasty "cease and desist" letter from the legal dept, sent to tens of thousands of suspected offenders. THE DUMB PEOPLE respond and create a track record of receiving service, making it so the legal dept now can easily prove they got it, and they have no excuse of ignorance they were stealing IP beginning the date of response and if so; willingly chose to continue. The smart people evaluate the situation and quietly and if necessary distance themselves from the IP like changing the name of the characters/artwork on the place of business etc. About the dumbest thing you can do is reply "get fuckt", and sign your name. If Chris got a cease and desist he probably threw it in the hoard, I bet anyone here $1,000,000 USD at least one troll if not a dozen have sent fake cease and desist letters with Sega/Nintendo letterhead to Chris and we've heard nothing of it. Even @Null questioned his personal federal subpoena, whether it was legit or a forgery

TL;DR : Chris probably already got a cease and desist and threw it in the hoard without responding. The legal entities have bigger fish to fry than Chris, they go after Bigger and more responsive targets. The real question is how big does the Chris's "horsefuckers the gathering" game, have to get before he gets an actual in person service subpoena for civil action? I'm kinda wondering on this one as it appears they paid the child porn actor Desmond to endorse the game.

Very unlikely. Chris would be way down in the list of people they'd bother about this, and everyone else would have kicked up a fuss if they were going after anyone at all. They just aren't and almost certainly won't.

In the interest of clarity we're talking at least 5 separate intellectual property owners? Nintendo/Sega/MTV/Hasbro/Fuzzy Door Productions and or Fox? I'm sure I'm missing quite a few.

My opinion Chris is WAY down the list of people the legal dept is going to be taking the extra step dedicating an actual service of subpoena however, I have a hard time believing they (Sega/nintendo/hasbro etc) do not know about it, due to the trolls informing on him; and haven't sent some communication. If anything else you send a cease and desist as a warning certified mail and you have recorded you have done all due dilligence and attempted warned the possible future defending party ALL the way back as of X date to "knock it off or else". 50 Fake cease and desist letters, 2 real ones? IDK but, I'm very confident a legal dept somewhere has warned him. This is my opinion I'm not a real attorney.
