>you've lived long enough to see modern netizens discover YTMND
Fuck I'm getting old. My favorite is probably the "Jean Luke Picard of the USS Enterprise" song. My first one must've been the "Running In The 90s with Ronald McDonald".

No contributions for the thread topic and sadly all the forums I used were either shut down by corps trying to modernize their sites or owners getting burnt out trying to beat out similar topic forums. Gone are the days of checking dozens of unique sites after a long day- I'm pretty much down to checking like 3 (:_(

Is Niggas in Space considered a deep cut these days? I feel like I used to hear about it a lot more often.

Its web design (and userbase) are very much a time capsule. It's also got a Bad Ideas forum for any YN in need.

Oh hey, haven't seen you in a while. Yeah I don't think I've heard of this site before, if I have I most likely dismissed it and got filtered by what I saw. Anyone you care to share about this site?

A few years ago I ran into something called Amarna forum. It seems they have closed down since then, although they have some even older version archived at the bottom of the page. I didn't stick around for more than a day of lurking, so there's not much more I can say about it.
Also:

Of course it's banned from the waycucked machine. Dunno if there's any archive of it anywhere else.

All that I have saved related to Amarna forum is this meme template thing, although I'm pretty sure I must have gotten it from 4chan?

EDIT: Oh, we have a short thread on it here! https://kiwifarms.st/threads/salo-forum-tunis-bay-club-amarna-forum.20813/

There was also the old Chimpmania forum, but it's gone now too. I think all that remains is Sseth's recording of it. You can find it on archive dot org here.
You know what, here's my local backup too. It's somehow smaller in size but higher res than the one on that archive link. Maybe I got it from a different archive, don't recall.

The site can best be described as a shitpost factory where you'd make stupid shit and link it to friends. I suggest checking out the top viewed of all time section, page 1 pretty much covers the whole tone of the site. These are the two I mentioned in my post - Picard Song and lol Ronald McDonald and other people Running In The 90's. This was also mentioned earlier in the thread - Nigga Stole my Bike (and the Mario version). It's definitely an outdated format (A whole webpage dedicated to a short looping gif and sound) so I don't blame you if you don't see the charm or laugh at it. It's like trying to laugh at old internet macro images, it just isn't as funny anymore.

So this is what feeling like a zoomer feel like. :story: Most of my life I felt too old because I never caught up with recent trends, now I can't even be caught up with histroy.

Funnily enough, I was thinking about YTMND the other day, specifically the "secret nazi" meme that ran for a while. On YTMND, it was a shitpost, highlighting the absurdity of the notion of there secretly being Nazis everywhere, including in your tacos. Now, it feels like half the damn population has gone so fucking insane that they genuinely are seeing Nazis everywhere, including in their tacos. Further, they are so self-righteous about their ability to see the Nazi in the tacos, they will attack you if you suggest that maybe there are no Nazis in the tacos.

Reality mimics art, I guess.

Back on topic, I have some hunting to do.

Seems like any "Web 1.0" style forums are all inactive. Except Kiwi Farms.

Otherwise, Reddit and "Discord" are taking the places of "Web 1.0" forums.

Oh boy....

Back in 2004-2005 I was deep into Halo 2. Modding online lobbies for fun, getting paid in Xbox Live 3-Month membership cards to boost players in matchmaking, and hanging out with Halo 2 clan members and shooting shit until 6am. But a past time for me during this time was the Machinima community and their videos. To any Kiwi's around this community during that time, a guy by the name of imSuck and his group HollywoodHalo / Halogrid was the kings of the Machinima crowd. Their output was as close to Red vs Blue as there was. Their forum site ran on vB at HaloGrid.com but that site is long dead. However it looks like some guy has taken an archive.net snapshot and published it onto a clone for old fucks like me to nostalgia glare at.

Pelican is literally a lifeline for older air-cooled Porsches and pre-millenium German cars in general. Some of the guys there will pay thousands for used or NOS parts. I once saw a pair of NOS 917 calipers listed on there for 10 grand, and people were clamoring for them at that price because they're rare and practically impossible to get.

Not new but not mentioned in this thread, but GameFAQs still has an active forum. It's nothing compared to twenty years ago but it still gets hundreds of users daily.

As of this post submission there "are approximately 577 registered users currently using the message boards."
