Hell, maybe she's just telling herself (or anyone else who asks) that Cole or someone else well-meaning and capable will take Chris in without problem, as a way to justify her not having to do anything herself. Sure, it'd be based on absolutely nothing and all signs point to the opposite, but Chris does it all the time, so why not Barb? Kind of like an alcoholic who keeps saying he'll quit drinking "next month" or something.

Some people fear death and don't realize the gravity of it coming to them. To acknowledge your son's well being after you're dead is to accept death is inevitable and won't pass over you. It's quite common.

It's a bland blah of nothing with the TV running all day. When you do nothing all day your creativity takes a nosedive for the worse. Without CWCville or Manchester Lego high, it's probably just Chris playing PS3 all day with the occasional trip to get food. Since the kitchen's now accessible they can have delicious HungryMan Dinners on occasion.

Very true. But I think in Barb's case it's not a matter of denial or refusing to acknowledge the inevitable. She very likely does know that death will come to claim her eventually (a point that was probably driven home with the passing of her husband), but simply doesn't care. To her, the only thing that matters is how much can she get out of something before it can't be used anymore. How much can she ask of someone before they tell her no. With Chris she knows that he won't leave her like her other son did and she can continue to use him as her personal gofer and teddybear until the day she dies.

She knows, but just doesn't care that her adult autistic son can't really survive in the real world.
 
I assume that she is unaware of the 1000 plus teens and twenty somethings who know about her life, and judge her for her failings?
 
She likely has an idea about it. But she doesn't care. They don't/didn't stop her from purchasing goodwill crap for the hoard, they don't keep her personal little igor from fetching q-sands when she wants them and they aren't right in her face right now telling her what a pile of shit she is. To her, they may as well not exist.

I wonder if Barb ever herself wonders whatever happened to all those nice, wholesome, respectable young women who kept calling her house asking to court her darling son? I wonder if she misses them or just believed all along they were thieves/tricksters?

Barb knows about the trolls. Afterall, Borb, were the ones implicating Megan and Snyder as the prime trolls. Barb is just as delusional as her son.

Barb kept him back from a bunch of dates, she can be hard on several of phonecalls with the trolls. Barb knows about the trolls.
 
I don't think The Borb blaming Megan and Snyder for leading the trolls had much to do with them being delusional. I think it's more that they're really fucking old and have no idea how the internet works, how their son's stupidity has permeated the far corners of the globe, and how random people he's never met wanted to fuck with him.

Edit: Trust is the wrong word. More likely: Believing blindly.

He's talking to someone (fake-Miyamoto) whom he presumes is in Washington at the time. Why does he feel the need to point out the weather and "that's where Seattle is" to this person?
