I agree with those who have said that Barb treated Chris like a helper monkey and a baby she could cuddle. I don’t believe she ever bad touched him. I’d need more evidence.
Exactly. Remember, Chris believed that some principal, that was well known, just straight up molested him on the day that he had his tard out in elementary school. So I'm sure that what that principal did was simply rub his shoulder, or hug him, or something to try to calm him down, and Chris, being autistic, in the middle of a melt down, saw that as 'bad touch'.
But then you also have Chris alleging in one of his recent jail letters, that Barb's been "zombie like" for at least over a year before Chris got locked up. The decline could have been going on for years, and I can't find the dates, but Chris talked about taking those elderly classes that talked about dementia, which is where I think he finally noticed Barb's change. Plus, I imagine Chris isn't that tarded to claim that HE was the one that initiated those things, but instead, made it out like it was Barb's idea. Plus, we have the fact that Chris can't help but blurt out things that bother him, such as his shitting his pants, so it stands to reason if Barb was really bad things to him, he'd have let it slip. I mean his memories of Bob jumping out of bed, wearing nothing but a tank top, and his big fat hog swaying around enough to traumatize Chris years later, so if Barb was being completely inappropriate, he'd have spilled the beans by now.
Honestly it sounds like it would have been easier just to throw Chris in a special school than hire a full time tard wrangler just so he can sit around reading Goosebumps.
But it would have meant effort on Borb's part, not to mention additional costs. There's also the theory that Barb wanted to get knocked up to entrap Bob, in addition to Bob trying to 'redo' his first marriage and raise a kid that wouldn't hate him. I think their "backwards thinking" about mental health, wasn't that they'd torture Chris or lock him in a straight jacket, but instead, basically making him a full time patient. In a nut house. Basically, Chris would be taken away for years, and forced into a regimented regime, where he could easily think these hoarder, elderly, emotionally abusive people, weren't worth his time to hang around with.
I can't imagine anyone in the Greene county school district, or whomever else was involved, not explaining what Chris would learn or go through at that school they wanted to send him to. I'm sure something came up about his behavior and possibly getting into a 24/7 "boarding school" type situation. Either that or it would have meant Borb would have had to arrange transport for Chris, every day, whereas the local school district will "just do it".
