He was bullied, at least he believes he was bullied by both other boys and the teachers, and all it did was make him more introverted and spend more time making his CWCville fantasy rather than become "normal". Genuine delusion cannot be bullied out of people, because their narrative creation ability is basically on overdrive, all the time. Anything that happens to him will be filtered into support characters or villains. Chris cannot tolerate the concept that he has to change himself in a way that other people prefer. Bullying would not have changed him, jail didn't change him, years of being trolled combined with given very clear lectures on how he could improve by those trolls did not change him. And positive reinforcement would mean feeding into his delusions as well. I don't believe Chris can change unless someone does some insane Soviet/China style brainwashing on him.

He’s both!

I guess in technical terms autism is a neurological condition that has a spectrum from non verbal, low IQ, quick to anger, etc to mostly functional but ‘quirky’ (Like Elon Musk is autistic).

But even for a ‘high functioning’ autistic (An outdated term I believe but basically meaning not low functioning to the point needing 24/7 care) Chris has a remarkably low emotional intelligence, poor theory of mind and matured very slowly (For example he only got interested in girls romantically while in college at the age of 21).

The old use of retarded usually referred to an intellectual disability which I don’t believe autism is, even though there’s a bit of a crossover (Chris probably does have around an average IQ so wouldn’t count) or slow mental development which definitely would apply to Chris I think.

Chris has always seemed to be something of a perfect storm when it comes to what exactly makes him such an exceptional individual.

Sorry, I never heard the water boy claim, only the claims Chris made so that is what I was going off of.

I do feel pretty stupid now.
Still I feel like if the teachers had given him the grades he deserved and if his father had reacted with shame ever time Chris through a fit about it, like he did at graduation, maybe Chris' ego wouldn't have gotten as big as it did. At the very least he never should have gotten and A+ for that abomination of a CD cover.

Yeah, he’s smart enough to complete a two year college course but it did take him five years to do it.
