Containment Random Thoughts & Questions

From the female perspective, Britney was huge. In 2000 the mainstream female artist population was pretty much her, Christina, and if you considered yourself "mature" Destiny's Child/Beyonce. I remember there being a petition to have our school adopt uniforms because of the Baby One More Time Video.

I'd talk about shit taste, but at the time I was way too into Good Charlotte, All Time Low, and Evanescence to rip on anybody.

Even if he did apply, it wouldn't do any good. Think about it, would you hire this?

What would he teach anyway? We know that he has a poor grasp on the English language, and I doubt that Manchester has a Kindergarten art class.

at my schools, they'd put substitute teachers in all kinds of classes, the subs would use the regular teacher's lesson plan

How did Chris/Borb pay for his 5 years at PVCC?

I think it was out of pocket. I worked for a financial aid office at a community college in Virginia and they're all linked together. Chris had no financial aid history when I looked him up.
In one of the Kacey calls, Chris hadn't the faintest clue as to what financial aid was. (A little ironic, that.) This strengthens the possibility that PVCC was out-of-pocket and clearly confirms that Chris really didn't give a shit about tertiary education.

To be fair, community college isn't that expensive so Borb could have paid out of pocket no problem. Although Chris probably could have gotten some kind of aid for his disability - I guess the Chandlers weren't smart enough to take that into consideration. Or they were probably just being lazy.
I'm more dubious of the possibility that Bob used college as a way to get Chris out of the house, and less as a means to enrich his son's life. Did Borb really think Chris was going to go places?

It's like from 1 to 17, they told/heavily implied to Chris that he wouldn't amount to anything. Then, as soon as he hit 18, they shoved him out into the world expecting magic to happen.

I think PVCC was Bob thinking that what was good for him would be good for Chris, never mind that college - either yesterday or today - is not a one-size-fits-all experience.

That's so ducked up because there are signs advertising fin aid EVERYWHERE in community colleges. There's even days where you can go and have your hand held through the whole fafsa process.

How long do Charb have left at their current home (heard it expired in September) and what's the progress on 14BLC? Is it still covered with trash, or has it decayed further?

Chris hasn't been thrashing about on facebook about needing money, so I'm guessing they've got accommodations.

Edit: nevermind! (They still might not be sunk yet, but yeah...)

Was Borb not aware of any financial aid available, or could they even qualify?

Borb probably expected PVCC to be another day care center for Chris, they probably would have tried to get him into a 4 year college but probably thought they couldn't afford it or Bob didn't want to waste money on the things that would probably happen and did at PVCC that would have occured at 4 year

Chris' CADD projects in college were pretty damn horrible. What I'm wondering is: was this more because he was being lazy, or was he honestly incompetent to do the work? Chris does seem to have problems recognizing things visually, so maybe his mall plan genuinely looked professional to him. Could he have used college to become actually competent in some field, or would his autism combined with lack of talent have made things too difficult no matter what he did?

(Thinking about this because I have a class this semester with a CADD component and it keeps cracking me up. I feel like I should do a mall blueprint.)

Depends... Will he be able to cry discrimination (either as an autistic or trans person) should I refuse?
He'd sure as hell try, but I'm pretty sure he'd need some kind of evidence to back it up. If told so, he'd probably accuse the informant of playing KICK THE AUTISTIC.

Would be funny if events unfolded so that Chris reacts to the true nature of his new girlfriend like Stephen Rea in
The Crying Game.
