this is a facebook group for people who write the 20 bus on nashville, tennessee's MTA system. the 20 bus takes this route:

this picture we know that carol chandler was riding the #20 in nashville in early 2010
so, pausing for a minute: what do we know about carol chandler? the wiki gives us a birthdate of 1969 and, importantly, a job with the federal government in washington, dc. it also gives us a middle name of suzanne (reported by chris), attested to by bob's obituary in 2012. now, bob's mention of her to emily just says
"my daughter's in washington". chris, for what it's worth, says she's
in washington, dc in april of 2010 but implies that nobody in his immediate family has heard from her in quite some time.
her recorded receipt of the e. j. mcshane prize from UVA in 1988 (which, based on the CVs of
other recipients, is awarded just before you finish undergrad as a math major) suggests that she should have received her PhD, assuming a standard track, sometime in the mid-90s. curiously, i can't find any evidence of a phd dissertation ever completed by a carol chandler in any math-related field, though whether dissertations are recorded online is usually up to the institution. it is also possible that she never actually got a PhD in math and chris is just wrong.

now, this gives us a Carol C. Chandler with a federal government (NRCS) job in nashville on the #20 line[/url]. based on
this federal employee salary list, the only Carol Chandlers employed by the US gov't are a carol a. chandler in vancouver, washington; carol j. chandler in washington, and our carol c. chandler in nashville. no carol s. chandler on the payroll, unless she works for the postal service or an agency involved with national security.
so we have a bit of a challenge here: have alan and kim chandler friended the wrong carol? has chris (and whoever wrote the obit) completely fucked up her middle name? i don't think the entire alan/kim/savannah clan have all managed to friend the wrong carol, and i also don't think that such specific mention of Carol Suzanne Chandler (chris says this multiple times) is an error.

the address listed on this is ALSO on the #20 MTA line in nashville--it runs from inglewood to the downtown area.
zillow reports that it was sold in 2014 so who knows if a carol s. chandler even lives there anymore.
here's a check on that phone number, confirming a C S Chandler at this address with this phone number. one of the previous addresses also piqued my interest:
sterling, va, a suburb of DC. zillow observes that this property was sold on 9/23/2003 and the nashville house was sold on 10/03/2003, so it's somewhat reasonable to see carol suzanne moving from the DC area in late 2003 to a new place in nashville. at this point, she's probably *not* with the federal government anymore.
note that some of the information on this myrelatives think is evidently culled from other sources and is fairly suspect--her age, for instance, seems to suggest she was born in 1964, not 1969.
so, tl;dr: i think Carol S. Chandler, estranged half-sister of chris, lives in nashville (or did up until last year) and is not employed by the federal government anymore. who knows what she's up to now.
